I want to be a positive role model to all the young children in our community, and show them that if you set your mind to do it you can achieve anything with hard work and dedication. I also feel this way about being a cheerleader. I feel that a Captain should lead with their heart, not their mouth. I have a vision for my team and we will work together to achieve it. Each year I set goals for myself, and work diligently toward making them become possible.
Drill team gave me the knowledge that grades in high school do play an important role in life and I knew that if I put enough heart into it I would succeed. My coaches made an impact on me because they differentiated me from other and made me realize that I made a huge difference to the team. They gave me the opportunity to showcase what I had, which made me sense I was notable and helped to raise my confidence. I have never been able to adjust to situations as well as others but the confidence I gained from drill team experiences helped to change that. My confidence plays a big role in the person I am today.
Cheerleading is all about competition, teamwork, and dedication and I think that’s why it’s my favorite sport. When I first starting cheering I fell in love with the sport! I learned discipline, teamwork, and trust. Being able to trust my teammates with my life when they throw me in the air is a feeling like no other. My coaches have made me gain confidence and that means the world to me.
I know that when I take this position I will be faced with countless obstacles but I will not give up on my squad. When I make cheer captain, I will give my all and try my hardest to get this squad where it needs to be. I know my place on the squad should be captain because I am a dependable and responsible person. I am also a well-organized person, so I will always make sure everything that needs to be done for the squad is done. I know I will be capable of organizing the formations of our squad and organizing the stunts that will be used.
Teachers and parents should help bring out the good in the teens coming up. They need to be a positive role model on making wise decisions and handling tough situations. Encouraging teens to follow their dreams can go a long way. It is always good to have a support system. What I have gained overall in doing this project is public speaking skills and public expression.
As a teacher you groom and mold your students always teaching them new criteria they need to know for their future. That is why as an educator I want to continue my own enlightenment by obtaining a Master’s degree. By becoming a principal it enables me to become a lifelong learner by observing great teachers, support disenfranchised students by being the constant figure at the school as kids move from class to class or from district to district but most of all I would get the opportunity to watch the students grow over their entire school grade career, not only physically but mentally and
It was now my responsibility to show others how to become leaders. This will make me a better citizen of the United States because I will have the skills to become a leader in my community. My continuing preparation for good citizenship involves the ethical code of conduct: honor. This is something that is not taught in any other class in high school. I expect myself, and others, to be honest, to be cadets with integrity, and to exemplify ethical behavior.
Ever since I was a child I’ve found my self to very meticulous about my grades, my skills, and my contribution to society. I believe that to make your name in this world is to make an impact on society. To be remembered. I have always wanted to be remembered. I feel that in order for success you must follow a certain set of guided ideas.
There are so many intricacies involved in the process; nevertheless, people are the most important element in creating justice for all, regardless of social status, color of skin, English language barriers, and cultural background (Theoharis, 2009). My major focus as a SJL is to empower and cultivate in my DACC colleagues in the advising center a passion for our students. A deep understanding of our students needs is essential in order to cooperate, and work together with a heartfelt passion to build a strong community college that practices equity and accessibility. By building strong relationships with our students and their families we can create a climate of belonging. This framework was provided in chapter I by Theoharis (2009), and is essential in sifting out bad practices, attitudes, established rules and guidelines, racism, and discrimination.
An effective leader is someone who compels and motivated others to action. Joining the Leadership Program would assist me in developing the leadership skills like some of the above-referenced that will be used throughout my life. By becoming a member of this program I will be given the opportunity to interact with other young ladies from different parts of the county. I will be given the opportunity to take part in activities that I would never do on a typical day. I will be exposed to new things as well as new people.
