The BSP is somewhat different from the biomedical model which Doctors in medicine uses as this kind of treatment model focuses more on the physical process as the pathology or the origin of the disease, its biochemistry and its physiological aspects (Wampold, B. (2001). The biomedical model only explains the biological aspect without involving the psychological and social background. Psychological and social aspects are important in determining that the diseases and illness are occurring without effect on both process and outcome of the treatment. Psychological aspect of it plays an important role in determining the prognosis of an individual with disease regardless of the severity of their medical diagnosis (J. W. Drisko and M. D. Grady, 2012).
This was a result from their successes in the Persian wars, in particular the battle of Salamis. Increasing naval power, as a result of the Athenian fleet established by Themistocles in 483BC, meant that Athens became ‘the epicenter of military and culture in Greece’- Kaysoukic. The population grew to 400 000 and it became the centre of trade after the wars. This increasing status in Greece contributed to their expansion of the delian league to the Athenian empire. The campaigns in Persia by Athenian leader Kimon not only consolidated Greek power but allowed for Athens to have increased trade routes.
The culture of ancient Greece influenced the Western civilization in a great manner that some of our modern-day cultures could be traced back to ancient Greece. Just take a look around you and you see that some architecture is based upon ancient Greek architecture. For example, the White House has Greek-style columns, while the Lincoln Memorial has Greek-style monument. Also the Olympic Games and the sport events in them comes from ancient Greece. So, these cultures do actually take part in our modern world today and are clearly present.
M1 - Assess the biomedical and socio-medical models of health The biomedical model of health "The biomedical model of illness and healing focuses on purely biological factors, and excludes psychological, environmental, and social influences. This is considered to be the dominant, modern way for health care professionals to diagnose and treat a condition in most Western countries. Most health care professionals do not first ask for a psychological or social history of a patient; instead, they tend to analyse and look for biophysical or genetic malfunctions. The focus is on objective laboratory tests rather than the subjective feelings or history of the patient." (Wise geek) This is the model of health that has over taken the way medication, treatment and diagnoses is done in many Western countries.
Roman Travel Liam Foster 10-26-14 About 2,000 years ago. Augustus Caesar, emperor of Rome, rid the Mediterranean of pirates and criminals. This opened the way for scholars, families, emperors, and a few women to be part of the world’s largest industry-travel. This became so popular, when Augustus did what he did. It made the journeys around the Mediterranean safer.

The Punic Wars: Long-Term Changes to the New Roman Empire The Punic Wars saw a number of important changes to the Roman Republic. These changes had both immediate and long-term effects that transform the Roman Republic into the powerful Roman Empire. The most obvious of these was the major expansion throughout the Mediterranean Sea during the Punic Wars. This growth therefore aided many social, cultural and political changes that allowed the Roman Empire to hold its immense power until the 5th century AD. Key changes include a shift in political guidance and wealth, the peasant community was altered and many began moving to the cities to look for work and food and Greek culture spread throughout the newly acquired provinces.
Ancient Rome was a thriving civilization that began growing on the Italian Peninsula as early as the 8th century BC. Located along the Mediterranean Sea and centered on the city of Rome, it expanded to become one of the largest empires in the ancient world. In its approximately twelve centuries of existence, Roman civilization shifted from a monarchy to an aristocratic republic to an increasingly autocratic empire. Through conquest and assimilation, it came to dominate Southern Europe, Western Europe, Asia Minor, North Africa and parts of Eastern Europe. Rome was preponderant throughout the Mediterranean region, and was one of the most powerful entities of the ancient world.
The one possible solution is universal health care modeled on one of the successful European models. The health care industry is extremely convoluted; even so an empirical study needs to conduct to determine the actual costs involved with different health care services. Case mix management refers to management refers to managing the case mix, case mix refers to the mix of patients that are being treated in a specific facility or institution (Pam Pohyl Associates, 2008). That could be a hospital or a health care clinic or even an individual physician’s office. It is usually measured by estimating the relative frequency of different types of patients seen or treatments provided.
Morey (1901) tells us that Carthage “early acquired dominion over the native races of Africa, the Lydians and the Numidians.” who were native to the region. Forcing many into slavery, the city began to grow. The power and wealth they achieved arose from the vast trading empire they established, trading goods across the known lands spices from the near east, tin from Britain and a number of other commodities. This trade was mainly conducted at sea, so they created a navy unrivalled at the time, one more sophisticated than any other. It also led to a city that was the envy of many, Mark (2011) points out that “The aristocrats lived in palaces, the less affluent in modest but attractive homes”.
