The New England and the Chesapeake Bay regions had many comparisons of which consisted of the same motivations, rights, and religious life. Both colonies were founded by England, resulting in the same population of people who were mostly settling in the Americas to establish a new life. By working hard and tediously, both colonies managed to survive through the toughest of times in the winter. The colonists developed a greater faith in God and sharing the land with the people around them, creating a systematic way of life (Source D). Along with colonist’s migration to America, the Magna Carta followed along to all colonies in the new world.
Imagine coming to America for the first time, something that has become a favorite pastime for all walks of life. People from around the world marvel at our distinctive way of life, creative sense of style, and unique view of things. Above all, countless notice our freedom, something that many of us take for granted. America is a spectacle to others that don’t have the same opportunities that we have been offered, and scores of us don’t appreciate it. None other than our distinguished Founding Fathers are responsible for the unmatched lifestyle we claim our own.
I am able to embrace two cultures, two languages, and acquire an international perspective of the world. Even at a very early age, I expressed interest and pride in my Dominican heritage. I soon became a person dedicated to two flags, a citizen of two nations. However, some of the most affecting experiences that attribute to my passion and knowledge are those that are painful. I have a dream today. I have a dream that one day from the sunny coastlines of California to the crowded streets of New York, from the Baptist churches in Arkansas to the green forests of Washington, from the palm trees of Florida to the mountains of Colorado, people will see that all men are created equal and that God is love. And if God is love, he loves everyone- even people who love people of the same sex. And these dreams are what give us hope. With this hope, the LGBT community will be able to walk away from this darkness, fear, and ignorance to a place of hope and happiness.
