Assignment 013- Understand Partnership Working in Services for Children and Young People Task A Why is it important for children and young people that you work in partnership with the following people/groups? Parents, carers and guardians This partnership is very important because parents or carers need to trust the nursery and staff that work there. They will expect the best quality of care for their child. Partnering well with the parent or carer of the child will increase good communication including sharing important information regarding the child needs, wants and development. Building trust with parents or carers will result in them knowing that the nursery is a very good place for their child as it offers a great amount of help and support, which is especially important for new parents or carers.
Competency Statement III To support social and emotional development and to provide positive guidance, I will supply children with an emotionally and physically safe and secure environment in which they will thrive, being able to develop their own sense of self. I will do this by smiling and greeting all children and their parents each and every morning. I will always address each child by their name. I will make sure every child gets some one on one attention when I can express appropriate physical touch and enjoyment in them being in my classroom. I will get to know each child, establish relationships with parents, and support their strengths as well as their needs.
All nursery staff must have regard to the standards and must also meet regulatory requirements and the conditions of their registration. The standards focus on securing positive outcomes for children under eight and reducing risks to their welfare and safety. Children deserve the best possible for their well-being and development. When parents leave their children with us in the nursery I am entrusted with the care of these children and is important that I give the best alternative care possible and that standards are maintained to ensure the safe and well-being of the child. Question 1 1.1 The features of effective partnership working begin with the knowing that it is everyone’s responsibility for partnership working in order for it to be successful. The benefits of working in partnership are enormous allowing families to share information about their children’s development or learning and supporting those children with particular needs to receive support. Colleagues, professionals and others must be active in working alongside, sharing expertise, knowledge and a common purpose to improve the lives of individuals in their care. Respecting each other’s skills and contributions enables everyone working together share their expertise, recognise and utilise the strengths of all involved.
E4 – Describe how the policies and procedures promote fair, just and inclusive strategies When working with children it’s important to be fair and inclusive, you must treat all children equal but still take in to account their individual needs. There are many policies and procedures that ensure children are treated fairly. An example of a policy that helps promote fair practice is the admission’s policy. An admission policy enables an equal chance for all children to attend a setting. Lily’s Day Nursery is an example of a setting that promotes fair admission.
Foster Carers are expected to work in partnership with other professionals. We are expected to respect the children in our case and give them the best level of care whilst treating them fairly. We should keep weekly log sheets to store information which should be communicated to the child's social worker on a regular basis. We should also be willing to learn and develop and to also support the child and others. 052: 2.1 Explain the importance of reflective practice in continuously improving the quality of your service Reflective practice is important because it ensures that continuous high standards are being kept as circumstances change.
We as Educators will protect and cherish the innocence of children and thus provide a safe and secure environment. As we unpack the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) we will work alongside your child to actively promote children's learning through worthwhile and challenging experiences and interactions that foster high-level thinking

Understand policies and procedures for promoting children and young people’s positive behaviour. 1.1 Summarise the policies and procedures of the setting relevant to promoting children and young people’s positive behaviour. The policies and procedures relevant in my school are written in the prospectus which is available for every adult and child in the school to read. They ensure that all the children in the school understand clearly how they are expected to behave in a kind and considerate manner and also encourage them to learn in a positive environment.
