Undocumented Students have a Dream “Because of the barriers to their continued education and their exclusion from the legal workforce, many undocumented students are discouraged from applying to college” (“The Dream Act”). We are not all born in the same place and with the same advantages. For example, undocumented students who came to the U.S. illegally don’t get the benefits and abilities to perform the things that legal students obtain and for that reason many of undocumented students are discouraged from attending college. States laws banning undocumented students from colleges and universities are also a barrier for illegal immigrant students to get a higher education. The barriers that undocumented students face in their path to a higher education can be overcome with the help of the Federal Government. And these can be done by passing a bill that helps undocumented students with there financial and illegal difficulties. For many years the U.S. has made it hard for undocumented students to attend college, and all because of their illegal status. These are undocumented students whose illegal status didn’t matter as they attended elementary school. But all of that changes on the day that they reach senior year in high school at the process of filling out the college application and financial-aid forms. Arriving to Central Washington and attended elementary like any other child, Aurora didn’t care about her illegal status. But all of that change as she arrived to senior year in high school. She knew that her future wasn’t going to hold the promise that she saw in her friends’ lives. When the time to filled out the college application and financial-aid forms, Aurora was unable to provide a social security number which deny her from federal and state financial aid, and at a public
