Assignment Unit 7 AC420 Cost Accounting Toyota Paper Date: 09/16/2012 In North America, Toyota Company is one of the top automobile manufacturer’s to work for. Toyota claims that their, "integrity, passion, and innovation extend beyond vehicle manufacturing." This resolute statement is backed by a strong example of what policies and procedures have been put in place. They are one of the top competitors in the global automobile market. The formula of their success was established back in 1957 (http://www.allaboutsimon.com/toyota/part2_1.html). Organizational culture can be defined as a system of shared beliefs and values that develops within an organization and guides the behavior of its members. Toyota has manufacturing facilities worldwide, attracting people from different culture. Through diversity opportunities of new partnership can be built. Toyota’s philosophy is to hire people not as employee but as individuals, understanding that everyone has different strength and talent, which help creating greater opportunity for growth within the corporation. Toyota has 7 Guiding Principles: 1) Honor the language and spirit of the law of every nation and undertake open and fair business activities to be a good corporate citizen of the world. 2) Respect the culture and customs of every nation and contribute to economic and social development through corporate activities in their respective communities. 3) Dedicate our business to providing clean and safe products and to enhancing the quality of life everywhere through all of our activities. 4) Create and develop advanced technologies and provide outstanding products and services that fulfill the needs of customers worldwide. 5) Foster a corporate culture that enhances both individual creativity and the value of teamwork, while honoring mutual trust and respect between labor and management.
