This was not the first time they had tried to attack the world trade centre. In 1993 February 26th a truck bomb exploded in a parking garage below the world trade centre. Six people were killed and more than 1000 people where injured. A Pakistani was eventually captured and convicted for the bombing as were several Egyptians. The FBI believe that these terrorists plan was too explode one of the towers and make it lean and fall onto the other tower to destroy them both to try and kill and total of 250,000 civilian deaths.
September 11, 2001, is a date in which will be remembered in the minds of Americans forever. Four commercial airlines were hijacked. The hijackers intentionally crashed two of the airliners World Trade Center in New York City, killing everyone on board and many others working in the building, and also killing an estimated 343 firefighters. The hijackers also crashed a third airliner into the Pentagon. The fourth plane crashed into a field near Shanksville in rural Somerset County, Pennsylvania, after some of its passengers and flight crew were said to attempt to retake control of the plane.
Over 4400 Soldiers died in Iraq and 2000 killed in Afghanistan during a ten year war to end terrorism and the Al Qaeda network. As a result of the 9/11 attacks many Americans lost their lives that day. The men under the command of Candelario Lopez burned and looted the city and the forces under Pablo Lopez, Beltran and Castro attacked the American forces. The men under Cervantes penetrated unopposed into the heart of the city killing anyone who stood on their way. After kicking the door open to the commercial Hotel they searched it desperately looking for Ravel who was out of the town at the time. L. Burkhead the postal administrator left the hotel with his wife and kids through a back door just before the hotel collapsed in flames. Arthur Ravel who was 16 years old at the time, witnesses this carnage only because the two men assigned to accompany him to his dad’s store were shot by the town folk.

The bombing of Dresden in World War II was one of the destructive events in history, killing more than 30,000 people. Kurt Vonnecut was an American soldier who experienced this first handed when he was captured and held at this city. As result of this event, he wrote the anti war novel Slaugtherhouse-Five or The Children's Crusade: A Duty-Dance With Death, where the main character, Billy, a American soldier who was also captured and experienced the bombing of Dresden. In the book, Vonnecut condemns war by using black humor, a genre of satire that make fun of serious, to describes events such as death and being captured in the war to shows stupidity and illogicalness of war. The attacks resulted in the deaths of 2,996 civilians. News reporters caught multiple civilians jumping out of buildings hundreds of feet above ground, killing themselves trying to escape the burning jet fuel. Four hundred and eleven emergency rescuers died while trying to save lives in the burning buildings. This awful tragedy will remain in my life and I will take this horrible memory to my grave.
