This album was a Landmark progressive album, and still is considered an outstanding hit. There are several songs from this album that really strike me as creative timeless hits. Three of my favorite songs from this album are; “Breathe”, “On the Run”, and “Money”. Their ability to use new and unique instruments for the time, to convey the storyline of life is incredibly thrilling to me. The songs feel very poetic for me, and have a certain timeless energy about them.
Twenty-four hours with no music? Who would have ever thought that this would be possible? The challenge to go twenty-four hours with no music was extremely hard because I love music so much. Music is always one of the main things in my day that keeps me focused. There were a few times when I actually had to choose a different day because I kind of subconsciously listened to music without even thinking about it.
“The Good Life” Ryan Tedder, Brett Kutzle, and Eddie Fischer’s lyrics written for OneRepublic’s song “Good Life” basically is intended to say “live life to the fullest and realize how good of a life you have.” In this song, the line before the chorus says “We’re young enough to say,” which is reminding people to enjoy life while they’re young, and not to waste any time. The main chorus states “this has gotta be the good life,” this is implying that they’re experiencing the goodness of life, which makes everyone else want to experience this “Good life,” making this a catchy song. The lines “Sometimes there’s airplanes I can’t jump out of; sometimes there’s things that don’t work now, but please tell me, what is there to complain about?” This is basically reminding us that even though they’re saying to enjoy life and live it to the fullest, there’s always restraints and some things people shouldn’t do. They say “what is there to complain about?” which is again, saying to be thankful for what we have and don’t complain about the little things. This song is a very upbeat and happy song, reminding people to live life to the fullest and enjoy it while we’re young.
Whenever a person is going through a situation in their life, or is in a particular setting; if they listen to a certain piece of music a few times, this piece will then be connected to that atmosphere. When they decide to listen to that piece again, they will remember the particular setting they were in. This experience is the most powerful one. The ability to backtrack to a moment in your life through music is something that is really quite beautiful. This is why certain pieces are associated with certain events.
I want to help anyone I possibly can, and most would use the word selfless. Almost all the time I am smiling about something. I am a very positive person and like to see the “good” in everyone and everything. I try to make everyone feel special, because they are. There’s more to that smile than just always being happy.
“When we love a piece of music, it reminds us of other music we have heard, and it activates memory traces of emotional times in our lives. Your brain on music is all about, as Francis Crick said, connections.” What is music? Many of us have distinctive definitions of this complex term because it plays a unique role in each of our lives. Daniel J. Levitin, the author of This Is Your Brain on Music, looks at music from a neuropsychological perspective. How music affects us is connected through our brains neurochemistry, our mental associations with the music, our culture, and our spirit, which are all mentioned in this scientific journey.
Music is a great thing and can provide some great feelings and really sets the mood in social situations. This is why I believe this premise is plausible; there are many genres in music these days some include rock n roll, pop, jazz and one that really can relate to this argument which is soul music. Soul music bases its lyrics and tunes off of what they believe can enhance and enrich our souls, along with their own beliefs incorporated into the songs with beats that anyone can jam along with. One musician who always has stuck out his head and jammed to his own beat was artist Jimi Hendrix, he was by far in my eyes the best guitarist every to walk the earth. Listening and watching videos of his live performances really got my soul screaming out to his irresistible lyrics, he put all his heart and soul into his lyrics.
Music is definitely a major part of everybody’s life in this novel. They look to music as escape, celebration, and just a way of life. People are looked up to because of their musical talents, including Larkin and Hackly. When Larkin’s voice changes for the first time he acts like it a major loss because, in this book, the loss of someone’s musical talent is like losing one of the most important things in you life that defines who you are. Larkin is seen as a quiet, but strong individual as portrayed in his voice.
Romantic artists, musicians, and writers responded to the social, political, and economic changes in the 1800s by conveying their feelings and views in the work they were creating. The Romantic musicians of this time admired the ability music had to communicate deeper understandings without words. It created a level of passion and power that could not be reached by others. An important musician of this time was Beethoven. His music was alive with
