They think this because they are obeying road rules by going the speed limit, if not less. But going slower in the left lane is a hazard to other drivers because people start to tailgate and get road rage. People who drive slowly in the left lane are oblivious to the trouble they are causing the faster drivers in the same lane. Other drivers around the slow left lane drivers get all frustrated which isn’t safe for the slow drivers or the fast drivers or the “nervous wreck” drivers. When drivers get all exasperated they become irrational, and irrational people do dumb things without thinking.
When teens drive after drinking alcohol, they are more likely than adults to be involved in a car accident, even when driving less alcohol than adults. (Times, 2007) Speeding is another cause of fatal car accidents among teens. (Times, 2007) When late for school, an event, or even for curfew, speeding seems like a quick and easy idea to fix the problem. But the real problem is speeding is very dangerous. Teens do not realize the danger of speeding.
Texting while driving is just as dangerous as driving drunk or high. It can put your own you safety in jeopardy. Every time you text while driving your putting your life at risk and whoever around you life’s at risk. The people around you can be affected by you texting and driving. You can hit their car and permanently hurt them and if you don’t get hurt then you will have a huge lawsuit on your hands for that person’s health care and car damage.
Texting while driving has become a major cause of accidents, especially among young drivers. When texting, you are too focused on your conversation instead of the road. This not only puts the driver of the vehicle is harms way; it creates an unsafe environment for all those in and around the automobile. Is a text message really that important? I highly believe that texting while driving should be illegal.
Those are the people who are careless and don’t want any assists from anybody. Drunk drivers like that take it upon their self to drive home anyway not aware of the danger their putting themselves into. People who drink and drive under the influence hear about all the deaths and injuries and are aware of all the risk and penalties but still chose to drink and drive. Maybe they are the ones who do it all the time and never been in a accident before. Even if you never been in a car accident before while being drunk doesn't mean you should take the risk of driving while intoxicated, because it will be just your luck when that day will come when you kill someone.
You could have easily injured or killed someone else or yourself. On top of it all, you are to blame for causing the accident. The whole situation could have been avoided if you had waited until you reached your destination before looking at your phone. Distracted driving has become a serious problem within the past decade due to the prevalence of distractions such as portable music players, talking on cell phones, and text messaging. A split second glance away from the road is all it takes for disaster to strike while driving.
The Loss of loved ones; loss of important family members and loss of friends resulting from irresponsible drunk drivers on the road are tragic and permanent. Drunk driving is like playing with fire because most of the time, the drunk drivers think they are suitable for driving. Unfortunately, the liquor already affects their minds, they do not care about themselves and other people’s lives, and that is not only selfish but a deadly combination. You have no right to let anyone else suffer from the consequence of your action especially innocent bystanders and their loved ones. One of the biggest causes of drunk driving is the person who hasn’t adequately prepared for the situation.
There are many similarities and differences between texting while driving and drinking while driving. Some of these differences and similarities would have to be that they both are illegal, they both impair the driver and they both cause accidents, injuries and death. Please let me remind you that they are both very dangerous and many people do them both every day. However, one can be more dangerous than the other, but I let you, the reader, decide which one is the most dangerous based upon the comparison and contrast I will make regarding texting while driving and drinking while driving.
