I was able to hold back most of the negative emotions brought on by having to describe the trauma of the accident, and it enabled me to create an essay unlike anything I have ever written. Music made my writing experience unlike any other and has aided me in creating and using a broader vocabulary and extensive use of detail. This shows how music has a heavy impact on my ability to think “outside of the box” and become more inspired. Being a music student I have found a lot of inspiration in music and it has made me a better writer. A specific instance where I
Listening to music can be done in any situation. The lyrics calm you down and sometimes give you a solution to your problem. Thanks to technology, even our phones can provide us with music.
To me, chapter three seemed to be a very informative chapter that thoroughly broke down its information in manners that may have seemed confusing to its readers. Thankfully, not too long into the chapter a section named “Touring the Nervous System and the Brain” pops up after page 64 and ends where page 65 begins. This section of the chapter is perfect for people who learn off of visuals more than they do by reading. Each page in the section contains multiple slides that when layered on top of each other they create a very in depth visual depicting different parts of the human body and the important pieces of each body part or bodily function. This section was very helpful to me personally as it explained information that was also in the text of the chapter but it taught me through their image which is a different and more helpful way to learn for
The documentary follows Samuel Habib, the son of photojournalist Dan Habib, along with four other individuals with disabilities. Habib captures the true difficult efforts of including Samuel in their ‘normal’ day-to-day lives. Every individual is at different walks of life in the documentary; I think that the film does an excellent job at portraying the difficult struggles each individual with disabilities face. “Including Samuel” is a very heartwarming film; I caught myself tearing up throughout the entire documentary. This film changes the way I viewed inclusion and people with disabilities.
These tripod shots give audiences a feeling that all the scenes were prepared and designed by the directors. The handheld shooting technique will be the best for self-shot documentaries films such as Exit Through The Gift Shop or Chronicle. The handheld camera brings origins and “actualities” to the film. It means the audiences can see, feel, and even live exactly what the protagonist experiences or wants to share through the movie. In the Chronicle, one of three main characters – Andrew bring his camera around to film his daily life.
In Perks of Being a Wallflower, Charlie is very smart and thinks outside the box, he is innovative and so his discoveries frequently come from this creative side of his personality. Overall, discovery is made up of small factors such as emotional, spiritual, physical, intellectual and creative. It is a part of growth and learning but the theme I have focused my visual representation is on travel and how it is represented in discovery, it gives a new perspective from being away from home which is relevant to all of my texts; particularly Away because at the end of the story, they all end up resolving all of their problems that they had at the start of the play by
I also plan to interview a couple people that are a part of a social community for Crohn’s to get their views. I will also be listing any negative effects of social communities if I come across any in my research. I chose to write on social communities and about Crohn’s communities in particular because I have Crohn’s myself as well as my mother and they are extremely beneficial to her and I on a daily basis and help me get through each day. I have been a member and/or administrator of quite a few Facebook groups and created a couple myself. These groups have given me a positive outlook on these diseases and on my life in general, so I do believe they are extremely beneficial to most people with the exception of a few people with negative effects.
I also did many pictures of my family members and friends and in these I wanted to get across their personality. People are so diverse, with different expressions, emotions, skin tones, and ages, and from one picture everyone sees them differently. The strength in my work is the technical skill, especially drawing more than painting. I have worked towards practising and learning to paint, but I still come back to drawing where I feel more comfortable and enjoy this more. One of my weaknesses is that my ideas skip around and very often I do not develop my ideas enough.
It is when broken people in a broken world get involved that the system itself becomes broken. Social media has the capability to connect worlds away to people we have never met, yet we choose to use it to post things with little to no meaning, only checking to see that streaks are kept and selfies receive the same amount of likes they always do. Social media has the ability to help us do things never before possible. We take that possibility, crumple it up into a ball, and throw into a trash can like a “baller”. We have better things to do, like catching up on that Netflix series, making sure we never miss and episode of our favorite show and keeping up the newest trends.
I have a genuine interest in this field as when I was growing up I looked after my Nan who was heavily disabled. This is where I got a lot of satisfaction in caring as I could see my work generally making a difference to someone’s life. My first professional job in the care and nursing industry was as a Nursing Auxillary at the local General Hospital. I completed some basic training which I enjoyed immensely and ended up being placed onto the orthopedic ward. Car crash victims and knee and hip replacement patients were now part of my daily routine, As my time there grew I was invited to attend theatre a couple of times which boosted my skills and knowledge even more.
