He even shows movies he dislikes as a result of his desire for money, seen in the quote "Duddy didn't say a word all through the screening but afterwards he was sick to his stomach." (159) While his father does not place a large importance on wealth, his extremely wealthy uncle proves to have a lasting effect on his development as Duddy is instilled with a desire for wealth. The acting in this movie was brilliant, and the three main heroes of this story are Ponyboy played by Thomas Howell, Johnny played by Ralph Macchio, and Dally played by Matt Dillon. Ponyboy’s role in The Outsiders was great and the film portrayed his character very well. For example, in the fountain scene, his emotions and body language expressed a lot of worry, and it was very believable. Thomas Howell also did very well in the scene where Darry hits Pony, and he runs away. This scene was especially realistic, again

Dorian explores these sensations as he looks to feel something real, but his entire life now revolves around his appearance and his state of self-denial. “Lord Henry Wotton is perfectly right. Youth is the only thing worth having. When I find that I am growing old, I shall kill myself,” (Wilde Chapter II) throughout the novel, Lord Henry influences Dorian’s decisions to be a pleasure seeker, to date only the elite, and to act in an high class manner.
