Assessment and Learning Task 1 Describe in general how the results of summative assessment (e.g., pass rates, success rates, module scores, final exam results) are used as part of internal and external quality reviews in your institution. You may wish to ask your mentor about this particularly in terms of self assessment and external inspection (500 words)? The results of summative assessments can be used in a number of ways. For example, in our institution, part of the quality cycle begins with the marking of students’ portfolios. Other tutors then double mark a certain percentage of these portfolios.
An essay that should provide proof (for a grade) that I have read, digested and somewhat understood what was eloquently printed between the pages of a 500 plus page text book. Thankfully an article I read in “The Sentinel” set my mind in motion and helped to provide me with my essay topic. Greg Bieger contributing writer for the “The Sentinel” Kennesaw States student newspaper writes”College is the time to change your mind” In his article, Bieger asks, “where has mans innate need for knowledge and experience gone?’ Bieger also contends that with the development of the Internet along with all the social media ramblings, we may not be using our minds to challenge what we believe
Case Study #3 Building a Coalition MGMT 591-10559 Leadership & Organizational Behavior Part I: Group Development The group is at the forming stage. Our textbook states the forming stage is characterized by a great deal of uncertainty about the group’s purpose, structure and leadership. Members “test the waters” to determine what types of behaviors are acceptable. After reading over the case study I was torn between the group being at the forming stage or the storming stage. The group does have purpose as they plan to create an after-school program which will improve school performance both by the students and the teachers.
