Kathrine, Sasha, Asta og Emma How to live before you die, Steve Jobs. Steve Jobs is one of the founders of Apple. Summary: The main point in Steve Jobs’ speech is that you got to love what you do. If you aren’t happy with what you are doing, you might as well stop. Life is too short to do something that doesn’t make you happy. That is fundamental in Steve’s speech. He tells three stories from his own life. The first is about: Connecting the dots. It’s about his early life, how he was adopted, because his biological mother was an young, unwed college graduate student. When he was 17 years old he went to an expensive college. His parents spend a lot of money on the college, and that could Jobs not see the value in. He didn’t know what he would do with his life. Now he had the opportunity to take the classes, that interested him and not the required ones. He started designing the first Macintosh computer, and later they designed into a Mac. He says: “Of course it was impossible to connect the dots looking forward when I was in college. But it was very, very clear looking backward 10 years later.” With that he means, that you can’t connect the dots looking forward, but you have to trust that the dots will connect in a future for you. The main point is that you have to trust in something, and that had never let him down. The second is about Love and Loss. Steve Jobs explains how his love for his work was what got him so far. It all started out in his parents basement with a friend and he ended up getting fired from his own $2 billion company. He then later build up a couple of more companies and one of them grew into his old called Apple. He talks about how he has loved and lost his work and Job ;) and how that his loss ended up only motivating him more, which led to even more possibilities and opportunities. The third is about death.
