Research Problem and Method Paper SOC/100 Many people today relate differently to the idea of migration of immigrants into the United States of America. Most if asked, would immediately relate this directly to the Latin American immigrant population. Today there are a variety of immigrants in the United States who do not speak English as their first language, such as those from Latin America, and former Soviet countries as well. A research study should be conducted to identify the impacts of the language barrier and how it directly correlates or impedes successful work environments, both public and commercial. The research design will be vital in determining the impacts of language barriers. Our public and commercial work environments are improvised with Latin American-Mexican immigrants, and the public and commercial works systems are continuously exhausting nearly every effort to overcome language barriers by integrating on-site employee training, and providing low level supervisors who are bilingual or have some diversity in spoken…show more content…
This will assist in limiting the potential risk associated with language barriers and immigrant employees. As the immigrant population continues to grow in parts of the United States, such as Texas, Arizona and Florida, more emphasis will be required on risk management and the need for more English speaking bilingual site supervisors (Such as Pena) if immigrant’s, specifically Latin Americans, are expected to perform in a proficient and safe manner.
