All six dimensions of wellness are of great importance in our lives. There are some we are stronger/weaker in, but overall none are more important than the others. Maintaining your physical health and fitness can be a difficult task without the correct work ethic. It should be of great importance to someone and their body to take care of it and maintain it the proper way. Emotional Wellness, for women at least, is also sometimes very difficult. Emotions are easily swayed and affected. Intellectual wellness is crucial in todays’ society. Considering the reputation of the current economy, excelling in academics is very important. Obtaining a respectable degree to land a high-class job should be the goal of every student; unfortunately that is not the case. Exercising the mind is incredibly underestimated and the act of learning should be valued significantly more than it is. Students take advantage of education rather than taking it as a challenge and conquering their schoolwork. Social Wellness is normally slightly easier than some of the others. Friendships are very common and new friendships are made on a regular basis. Friends give you a special type of accountability that can help in the other wellness areas. Relationships are very much emotional as well as social. Dating takes a lot of emotional and social work to keep up, but if you are with the right person then it becomes a little easier. Investing yourself into social aspects is a risk but can benefit you in great ways. The value of friendships and relationships is something that is irreplaceable and makes memories that last a lifetime. Spiritual and Environmental Wellness go together for me. I feel spiritual wellness is the most important
