Phil Knight By: Matthew Mata Career Prep- 1st period January 9, 2013 The Entrepreneur I picked to do my “Famous Entrepreneur Project” over is a man named Phil Knight. The reason I picked Phil Knight is because he created my favorite company that makes athletic attire such as shirts, jackets, shorts, socks, underwear, hats, gloves, watches, glasses, wallets, goggles, sweat pants, and my favorite shoes. I’m sure there are a lot of other things they make but those are just the ones that I buy from them. Phil Knight started when he was around twenty six years old. He was going to school for his MBA at Stanford in the early '60s, Knight took a class with Frank Shallenberger.
By the age of nine, his father sent him to attend a private school in Norfolk, Virginia, which was managed by an English clergyman and other wealthy Virginian scholars. This experience helped him build lifetime friendships, which supported him throughout his political career. During the six years at the institute he learned one of the most valuable traits that make up a notable and distinguish individual, character. Though the
He spent the rest of his childhood in Glendale, where Wayne worked paper routes and other jobs to help out his family. Wayne was also in clubs like YMCA and the Boy Scouts of America. I also chose Ford because of the impact he had on our country through different inventions, ways of thinking and incredible contributions to help others. Henry Ford was born in Greenfield, Michigan on July 30, 1863. His beginnings were humble, he was the son of a farmer. Ford dropped out of school at 15 to help with the family farm, but that didn’t mean he liked doing farm work. In 1879 he moved to Detroit to become an apprentice in a machine shop.
Jimmy Carter was born on October 1, 1924 in Plains, Georgia. Though he was not born into a wealthy family he worked hard in order to get where he wanted to be. In high school he graduated first in his class, being valedictorian and representing both his family and friends was an honor to him. After high school Carter attended Georgia Institute of Technology and after college enrolled himself in the US Naval Academy and graduated in the top of his class. After his education Jimmy Carter began his public career as the chairman of Sumter County school board in Georgia.

“He did not speak too often. He spoke when it was something of substance and an issue about which he felt passionate. He felt passionately about the development of a conceptual framework from which accounting standards can be established and about schools of accounting. He thought accounting was a learned profession.” Miller grew up in the small town of DeWitt, Iowa, and received the AICPA’s Elijah Watt Sells gold medal for posting the highest score on the CPA exam in May 1945. He served as an accounting educator from 1937 to 1970 on the faculties of schools including the University of Minnesota, University of Michigan, and Michigan State University.
I was recognized as second-best in my diversified crop production proficiency area on the state level. I'm currently a candidate for Northeast district star farmer and will receive my state FFA degree in May, only 727 members receive will receive their degree this year. The successes did not come easy I worked every day as far as I could to get to this point at which I am now achieving personal success. FFA has helped me in so many different ways. It has given me the confidence to achieve those goals I made years ago as a freshman.
The person that deserves my respect is my husband, Carlos Urbina. Carlos, the middle child of four brothers is the most handsome as well. Mr. Urbina came to this country at the age of 14 years old, arriving from Honduran in July of 1999. In this country there is no choice but to work to support whatever life style chosen. Also the fact that my family background has a lot of interesting history to it. My father is Huingarian and moved from Hungary to England when he was a child with his parents and two brothers. When he was around five his parents took him and his brothers to Cameroon in Africa as his father was a doctor over there. My father is really well educated he went to university at the age of 17 to study chemical engineering at Imperial College London, he has since been working successfully ever since all over the world. HE loves to travel and is interested in other cultures and can speak many different languages, this has really worn off on me.
