Krista Broderick Krista Ladene Broderick is an amazing person; I would trust her with my life! Although she is 3 years older than I am, we are a lot alike. She graduated from Paso Robles High School in June 2011 and moved off to Humboldt State University to study in Kinesiology. During high school Krista was a two year athletic trainer, four year varsity volleyball, soccer, and track star that has a big heart and would do anything for a person in need. Krista has taught me many lessons that I will carry with me not only throughout my high school career, but through my life.
NHS Essay Being a nominee, I realize that it is an honor to be eligible to participate in the National Honor Society. Since the National Honor Society is known for helping children, the needy, the elderly, and non- profit organizations, I feel as though it is the right society for me because I have always been known as the one with exceptional empathy. I feel obligated to use my gifts in an organization as inspiring as the National Honor Society. Over the past three years I have demonstrated all four principles: scholarship, leadership, character, and community service. During my high school career, I have put a lot of effort forward in my schoolwork and have challenged myself with advanced courses.
I believe that I should be head cheerleader because I am dedicated to everything that I do. I’ve been cheerleading since the age of five years old, and on a varsity level for two. I’ve participated on an All- Star team for two years. I’ve also served as the Youth Praise Dance Leader at my church for 6 years. My interpersonal skills have all been sharpened because of this endeavor.
She was always nice and she had us do things that made class fun. I had all A's throughout the year and I was the top student in the class. My third grade year was also very special. My teacher, Mrs. Murphy, is my favorite teacher because of how she treated students and she helped us connect with each other. My fourth grade year was mediocre at best because each day it was I had to deal with Mrs. Benson.
My role is to assist her with any problems that she may face, both academically and socially. We meet up at least three times a week and discuss about various things, such as setting academic goals, difficulties she may be facing in certain subjects, current global issues, or even just about our common interests or movies that are playing in the cinema. Being a mentor is both an honor and a privilege as the school has entrusted me with the responsibility of being a role model to a younger student who is now like a younger sister to me and she looks up to me for advice and encouragement. I am a keen badminton player and badminton is part of my extracurricular activity in school. I play badminton both socially and competitively and have been in my school’s badminton team for two years now.
Why I Think I Should Be in the 2011 NJHS I believe I should be considered for Lake Pleasant’s National Junior Honors Society because I am a determined student, who loves to do her absolute best. In my essay I have provided several reasons why I think I should be in NJHS. My first reason for being accepted into the national juniors honor society is that I love to exceed in my schoolwork and I am ambitious. For example I have made Honor roll almost every quarter this year. This upcoming school year I plan to receive honor roll for all quarters and earn A’s in all of my classes.

Kingsley Civic Club Scholarship Many people say that high school is what makes them who they are and that it is the time of your life, and I must say that I fully agree with that. I have learned so much the past four years and I am glad that I have gotten that opportunity to do so. In my high school career I have had many great accomplishments, but I think the greatest would have to be donating blood, my soccer experience, and hosting an exchange student from Germany for a year. My first accomplishment that I have achieved in high school would be donating blood. My school holds a blood drive twice a year, and at the beginning of my senior year I was old enough to donate for the first time.

Satisfaction never runs out in my life while my mother is still here with me. My greatest mother is a responsible woman. She not only takes care of my family very well but also is a patient woman in my life. She gives me a good education. For example, when I was five years old, she already sends me to school until now in university.
