Ruby Tuesday Incorporated is a chain of casual dining restaurants operating both domestically and internationally. Founded in 1972 by Samuel E. (Sandy) Beal III in Maryville, Tennessee the company was reincorporated as Morrison Restaurants Inc. in 1996. The company has expanded from its humble beginning of a single location near the University of Tennessee, Knoxville campus to a global company. With just over thirty- four thousand employees Ruby Tuesday now operates and franchises 850 locations around the world with 800 located domestically and other 50 located in fourteen different countries with extensive training programs in each country. Ruby Tuesday is located internationally in Canada, Chile, Egypt, Guam, Honduras, Hong Kong, Iceland, India, Kuwait, Romania, Saudi Arabia, The United Arab Emirates, Trinidad, and the United Kingdom with the highest overseas concentration in Chile and India. Their menu includes a combination of American and ethnic foods which include burgers, steak, ribs, seafood, fajitas, pastas, a variety of appetizers, and its famous salad bar. The up-market included removing the imitation Tiffany lamps and bric-a-brac décor of your neighborhood casual restaurant it was known for to a pricier and fancier menu and more upscale décor.
