Firstly, Romeo goes to the Capulet’s party, which is a choice he makes. Romeo finds out about a party when the Capulet servant does not know how to read the invite list. However, fate plays a more definite role in this play. In the prologue , Shakespeare makes it known to the audience that the play will be about two “star crossed” lovers. In Act 1 scene 4, Romeo talks about having a “dream”, and is reluctant to join Mercutio at the Capulet’s party. He thinks that his dream is a bad omen, warning him that something bad is going to happen, and he’s right. In Act 1 scene 5, he meets Juliet .
Curley’s wife’s obsession with herself ultimately leads to her death. She knows Lennie is supposed to stay away from her, but thrives on his attention and wants his praise for her soft hair. It is not coincidental that she ends up losing her life because she didn’t want Lennie to mess up her hair. This final event sums up Curley’s wife’s role fairly neatly. Steinbeck presents Curley as a woman with huge dreams and hopes who aspires to be famous in Hollywood and life a king size life.
Georgiana is a beautiful woman, whose only flaw is the human feeling of love; in which she loves her husband unconditionally and gives her all to him. Every man she comes in contact with lust over her and believes that she is amazing. She never once contemplated leaving her husband for one of the men that follow her around and treat her likes the true angel she is; in-stead she stays with her unsatisfied husband. He is unsatisfied because Georgiana is not perfect in every single way; for Georgiana has a small birthmark on her right cheek, a crimson hand as if a fairy has placed its hand upon her. Her husband, Aylmer, grows more and more annoyed with her only imperfection as every day passes.
Benvoilo feels sympathy for the young brokenhearted man and encourages him to go to the Capulet’s party so he will forget the girl. The Friar responds with, “Young men’s love then lies/ Not truly in their hearts but, in their eyes jesu maria, what the deal of brine/ Hath washes thy sallow cheeks for Rosaline!”(2.3.68-90). In the first act, Romeo thought himself to be in love with Rosaline. Romeo had been distraught over the fact that his beloved Rosaline was going to become a nun. Romeo would never be able to love Rosoline, or be with her. Friar Lawrence makes fun of Romeo saying that young men only love what they see.
The actions of the nurse and the Friar are responsible for Romeo and Juliet’s deaths. From the very begging of Romeo and Juliet’s newfound love, the nurse is supportive and helpful with Juliet. The nurse was an influential adult to Juliet and knew that the Capulets planned for Paris and Juliet to be married. She should have known better and discouraged Juliet from seeing Romeo. Instead, the nurse acted as a messenger between Romeo and Juliet for information about the wedding (Act II, scene iv).
Stella is willing to look past everything Stanley does because she loves him and that makes her the fool of the play. Moreover, Daisy truthfully married tom for his money and didn’t care what he did, unless and so long as he could continue to buy her anything she wanted. Daisy also would hope that her child was a girl, so that she’d be like her and survived the way she did “And I hope she’ll be a fool-that’s the best thing a girl can be in this world, a beautiful little fool.”. (Pg. 17 Scott Fitzgerald ;) Daisy was implying that the best way a female was to survive in this world was to be attractive and not do anything with her life, and sit back and let money buy her happiness.
