The date of September 11th, 2001 will without doubt forever be remembered as one of the most tragic days in American history. That day, two passenger airplanes were hijacked by terrorists and were flown into the Twin Towers in New York City. The impact of these airplanes caused the buildings to collapse and in result tragically claimed thousands of lives. Nearing the end of such a catastrophic day, President George W. Bush addressed the nation and delivered a powerful speech. Although his audience were not only the American citizens but also other worldwide leaders and citizens, he was mainly addressing the citizens of America as they were the ones who were mostly affected.
People were watching this horrific act being shown on every news channel for weeks after the attacks occurred. At the same time Americans were being told that terrorist had hi-jacked each plane and took control of the planes in order for these terrible acts to have taken place. The media was used as a deception to all Americans in order for them to believe that there were actual terrorists who attacked America for an unseen reason. To this day no one has shown a reliable reason for the attacks on
President Bush addressed the entire nation after the events that took place on Tuesday, September 11, 2001. In his speech, he addressed not only Congress but also the many thousands of Americans that were horrified and grief-stricken. President Bush spoke of the many men and women who died due to "evil, despicable acts of terror" and appealed to us using pathos. I would say that he provided a very decent and convincing argument in his speech. These events are still fresh in our minds, even 7 years later.

If we are successful to mobilizing quickly and having a military draft, our army would be almost unstoppable to other nations.

In his 2000 bid for the presidency Ralph Nader campaigned against the corporate powers dominance in the political landscape as well as the need for change in the manner of how presidential races are held. He also wanted universal healthcare, the legalization of hemp, and free universal education - meaning college would be free for every American citizen. Nader ran on a similar platform in 2004 and 2008. Opposition to the War in Iraq was one of the biggest issues in the 2004 campaign and Nader had always been at the forefront of this opposition. Nader has made it quite clear to his fellow citizens that he will always do his utmost to ensure that the rights of consumers are upheld and defended.
Roosevelt and Obama's welcoming spe4ech are inspiring and are closely related to each other in a topically manner. Both of which spoke about the subject “ freedom from fear.” our strongest emotion. Both also believed that everyone in the world has the right to this freedom no matter who they are. But the specific way that they viewed there current fears were different, Roosevelt was talking about the fear of economic downfall in the country wile Obama was speaking of physical threats from other countries. But still both believed in the fight against fear and no matter what that fear is of the people everywhere should be free from

The events of this day surely affected every citizen and likely affected every person in the world. Our fellow citizens, our way of life, and our very freedom we hold so dearly to us came under attack in a series of remarkable terrorist acts. The victims of this attack were everyday Americans. When mentions of airplanes, New York, and the Middle East are placed together, it is common to think that the author is alluding to the attacks on our World Trade Center in 2001. However, this is not the case. None of the airplanes used to attack our nations came from JFK airport. When doing further reading, I noticed the author says “ whole flocks are being gassed near JFK” and that “they’re going to make the opposition pay.” It is clear now that her allusion to our country’s War on Terror. These “whole flocks” had to be fleets of planes being sent over seas to avenge the death of our nation’s tallest twins.
