She will be the man here” (519). This quote explains Kreon’s irritation on Antigone. The very moment Antigone buries her be loving brother’s body Kreon wants to take action with killing her because she disobeyed his law also Antigone’s sister, Ismene, because Kreon believes she was part of it too. Kreon believes if he does not kill Antigone he will no longer be one of the best rulers that people will look up too. This quote is important because it explains how Kreon begins to commit hubris.
There may seem to be many motivations for villains throughout the times but as we study these scoundrels we find that generally they are motivated by pure jealousy, or a need of superiority. They utilize manipulation, both physically and mentally in order to achieve their goals and show a lack of remorse. Stephan King’s “Misery”, provides us with a very graphical depiction in Annie Wilkes a sadistic, mentally unstable retired nurse, who has a desire for power and control. Annie goes to tortuous extremes on her captive Paul Sheldon to realize this. Iago from Shakespeare’s play Othello is also a power hungry villain who enjoys having people under his control, he is driven by extreme jealousy and the motivation, revenge.
Whether it be good times or bad times in a man’s life. In Eve Golden’s short story “Dangerous Curves” he explains the different types of women and their problematic relationships. The most lethal female in Golden’s “Dangerous Curves” is the uptown girl because they can harm men in ways like no other mentally and the most innocuous girl is the smotherer because she can do no wrong for you. The uptown girl is a dream girl such as the ones seen “on the cover of Sports Illustrated this year.” They will leave males questioning themselves, “why can’t I get her attention?” or “Does she even like me?” This type of problem will leave a man confused and insecure of himself. Trying to figure out ways to better him; to gain that attention he craves and wants from the girl it is us men strive for everyday.
Miranda forces her will upon Caliban, boisterously teaching “each hour/ One thing or other” to her obviously unwilling student, who wishes upon her “red plague” for making him learn her language (121). His attempted rape is no doubt caused by his own evil desires, but it is also indirectly provoked by Miranda, who although has “taught (him) language”, but his only “profit on’t / is (that he) know how to curse” (121). Hence, Caliban’s attempt “to violate (her) honour” can be rationally seen as an attempt to reverse the power dynamics – for rape is the most obvious physical manifestation of one’s urge to exert power

These are called ‘shame shows’, shows that give us what we want, but what they give us is so shameful that we wouldn’t even admit we love them to other people. So why do we watch these shows? Is it because we find these shows relatable, characters around our age going through similar situations? Situations involving juicy gossip, drama, beautiful people falling into tough situations. Violence on T.V is a major factor that influences most children.
“I think she’ll sooner prove a soldier / As had she studied to misuse me so” (II,I,145-155). Lastly, we see Kate’s negative behaviour shown through her loneliness and her desire for a relationship that she torments her sister Bianca and plots revenge against her. This is shown when Kate and Bianca are fighting and Kate says “Her silence flounts me and I’ll be revenged” (II,ii,29), and continues with “What / Til I can find an occasion of revenge” (II,ii,31). Therefore,
Kowalski, Limber & Agatson (2012) research suggest that the perpetrators of cyber bullying shared feelings of gratification and or revenge as motivations for their actions. Offenders tend to act out their fantasies. In extreme cases, bullying can become disastrous for teenagers, resulting in long term consequences. Teenagers feel forced to protect themselves by carrying weapons for protection or seek revenge. Although the internet has become an excellent environment for ideas and thoughts, it has become a common ground for cacophony of misery.
In my opinion this (Myrna’s leaving) would be a good punishment for Kenny to recognize how he lost her mother easily and how much his crime is serious for her. And I believe it would effect on his feature life. Because if Myrna didn’t leave the home, he never know how much she is upset and angry. After all he can think about his violent deeply and find
We knew ahead of time that Medea was bound to murder her children, which I thought should build a nice suspense to the play had it not been mentioned. In addition, the Corinth women and Nurse’s verbal argument to change Medea’s decision on killing her children almost seemed pitiful because despite evoking guilt and awareness of her outrageous actions, she proceeded to do it anyway. However the one scene that made it unsatisfying (was the scene after Medea murdered her children. The verbal argument between Jason and Medea almost seemed like child’s play, engaging in bickering on who was to blame like a Jerry Springer/Dr. Phil show.
