What would you do if someone told you that you cannot practice your own religion freely but, need to follow their own religion. The king of England mandated all the citizens to attend the Church of England. All other religions were forced to practice secretly and if they were found they would be punished so they were desperately trying to find a way to practice their religion freely. Religion played significant roles in affecting the rate of immigration, to unify the people, and the search of a new government led to the establishment of English colonies in North America to begin. First of all, religion gave a massive impact on the rate of immigration which escalated to the population of 300 million that America has today. America gave what most countries at the time did not partake in which was religious freedom, that is why many people came to America and still come today for that reason. For an example the Irish came to America for that exact reason as there was religious persecution going on in Ireland as well plus America tolerated their Roman Catholic Religion. As more people came to America the larger the colonies grew and how it developed. Furthermore, Religion also played a part on unifying the people. What better ways to unite the people other than by letting them interact with one another? The people who lived in the colonies share a similar religion to the others who also lived there, by sharing the same religion people got along better with one another opposed to people who do not share the same beliefs. For instance in Plymouth, all the people were puritans which means that they all practice and shared the same beliefs, which led them to understand each other. This did not only happen for the puritans but all the communities who shared the same religion. Lastly, but most importantly, religion changed the way the government works in America
