Reflection on Human Dignity

What I had learned In front of God, everybody is independent, but also connected to each other. From the article Gaudium et spes, “Conscience is the most secret core and sanctuary of a man. There he is alone with God, Whose voice echoes in his depths.” Every man has his own conscience. Conscience is the time being with God, and everyone has his own way to achieve this status. Thus, everyone is independent. However, we are all finding a way to be with our own God and this action connects us to each other. Humans were also created in the image of God, so everybody is equal and should have his own free will. Even though some people have different ways to approach God, and their methods are kind of weird and conflicted with others, we should still treat them equally and respect them because we are all the people of God and what we have done were just to be with God. What I had done When I was a student in Canada, I would like to be a volunteer to teach some middle school students math. From my point of view, only Asian students love to study and do homeworks because they were trained this way since they were kids. On the other hand, local students such as black and white students were lazy and did not like to study. They were playing all the time. Thus, I did not take it seriously and just wanted to have a try. However, after teaching them one class, I found out that I was totally wrong. Lots of local students, no matter black or white, were loved to study and accept new concepts. They also wanted to be top students and get into a top university. Moreover, they were smarter than I thought. I just needed to show them a few examples step by step, then they were able to get the answer by themselves. That impressed me a lot. This volunteer job changed my view on local students. They were working as hard as Asian students, and they were as smart as us. From then, I began
