Purposes and Functions of University Education

Every one would expect a different university life; meet many new friends, study hard to graduate in first honor or just play for the whole 4 years. There are different purposes and functions of university education. All the purposes and functions can make me become a better person. University education helps us find ourselves. After entering this collage in the university, we have to start thinking about which major should we choose. Through this process, we can reflect ourselves by thinking which aspects we are good at and which major is suitable for us. Hence, this can help us identify myself clearer and set a goal for the next few years. This can prevent me from just muddling around without any aims. So one of the purpose of university education is to help us find out who we are and find ourselves. Besides, another purpose is to help us develop our own character. University is a glamorous place. University education is not only about pursuing different knowledge, but also about participating in different activities. Through joining different activities in various aspects, such as leadership or management, we can try out different kinds of activities and therefore develop my own character. This is also the purpose of university education. For the functions of university education, I believed that one if that is to help us be independent. Differ from the secondary school, teachers would no longer guide you to do or finish all the homework at school, or they would not take care us side by side anymore. Our parents would not remind us to do everything or urge us to do our work. Instead, we have to finish and manage all our works ourselves, we have to check what to do online or manage our time.
