Discourage pseudo-modeling Everyone remember the horrid scene of perverted teenage boys flocking to the book fair in the Wan Chai Convention Centre last year, moving through the crowd trying to take a picture or get an autograph with their idol pseudo model. Teenage boys being interested in girls during adolescence is a normal physiological phenomena, indeed, but when pseudo modeling becomes a rising trend, it gives young people a wrong and unhealthy message- exposing and revealing your private body parts is a short cut of making money and gaining celebrity. Teenage boys should not, however, be obsessed with sex and pornography. It is a vicious cycle that girls take “sexy” pictures, boys buy it, the girls make good money and the boys spend their time reading these unhealthy magazines. We must break the cycle. A pseudo model means a “fake” model. These models are a new breed of models. They are very young, often too short for a fashion catwalk. They wear bikinis and very little clothes to cover their body. (Pearl report) They exposed a lot of their private body parts, revealing their boobs and much of their body. They wanted to seduce young male teenagers to buy their magazines and make money. This is extremely unhealthy. We will provide concrete evident to illustrate the detrimental effects of pseudo-modeling later. The government publicly discourages the uprising pseudo-modeling trend by prohibiting these pseudo models from promoting or selling their magazines in the book fair. The prohibition, under strong stress and offence of publishers, indicates the urgency of stopping the pseudo-modeling trend. In addition, we suggest that we should grade these pseudo model magazines and stop teenagers from purchasing these obscene publications. But to ultimately eliminate the pseudo-modeling trend, education will be the magical panacea. We believe that we must
