The animals were being underfed so they were forced to break into the store house and eat the food in there. Mr Jones and his farmers started whipping the animals but the animals fought back. This caused the farmers to flee and this was the revolution. They preserved Mr Jones’ house as a museum and made seven commandants which they should follow. The pigs were the cleverest of the animals so they took the leadership role which is against animalism as animals should be equal.
The general themes of oppression, suffering, and injustice have broad applications for those that watch the film. In the beginning of the movie, the oldest, wisest, pig on the farm, Old Major, is giving a speech to the animals encouraging them that they must overthrow the farmer, Mr. Jones, who rules the farm as a monarch. He s a cruel, alcoholic owner that is irresponsible to his animals (lets them starve), sometimes beats them, and yet sometimes is kind. In his speech, Old Major reveals his feelings about Mr. Jones implying that he is man that consumes but does not produce or give back to those that occupy the farm. A monarchy is political system in which supreme authority is given to an individual ruler who functions as the decision maker for all in the society.
The pig nation found out about this and President Pohn Pigennedy was ready to claim war. The wolves placed nuclear missiles in a nearby grassland, that was close to the third piggy’s steel house. Everything was in chaos for both sides, but the wolves pulled back, they couldn’t risk another war toward their economy. Their economical structure was at risk of collapsing. The pigs all celebrated this wonderful victory, with a feast and mud baths.
to make sure Jones does NOT come back. 5. Pgs.37-42 Page: 40 para: 2 "Obviously they were going to attempt the recapture of the farm" Jones as well as other angry men are attempting to recapture the farm because they are afraid that their own animals will soon become like the ones on animal farm. But the men were driven away. Snowball had been shot and one man was dead.
Three animals, Napoleon, Snowball, and Squealer, create a system called Animalism, which is an elaborate system of Major’s teachings. Jones is run off of the farm when he does not feed the animals. The animals now have control of the farm and they rename it Animal Farm. After a successful take over of the farm, the pigs reduce the principles of Animalism to the Seven Commandments. As the farm evolves, Napoleon and Squealer become corrupted by power.
A pig named snowball tries to change napoleons way to make all the animals life’s better, he tries to follow Old Majors commands. But Snowball is then chased out and banished by Napoleon. He tells the animals he was banished for their benefit but really Napoleon has just taken complete control and was abusing his power. Boxer, one of the horses, was injured by a cart of rocks falling on him. He could no longer work, napoleon tells the animals he is going to send him to hospital to get better but he is not.
Farmer Jones was chased out of animal farm twice and although he wasn’t executed after the second time, he did not come back afterwards. The first of the pigs introduced is Napoleon and he is similar to Stalin. Stalin was a main character in the Russian revolution but when Lenin died he fought many power struggles with Trotsky. He became leader of the USSR but liked to rule through fear and violence. This is exactly the same as Napoleon, the pig in animal farm, he helped with the revolution but when old major died he struggled with lots of arguments with snowball the other main pig, also he became leader of animal farm and ruled through fear and violence
The conflicts among the animals and the humans included the defeat of Mr. Jones the head farmer, the bombing of the main farm windmill twice, and the death of Boxer the farm’s trusty cart-horse. The conflicts in the book would be Man vs Man, and Man vs Society. Boxer could have been described as the most sympathetic character in the novel, Boxer symbolized all of the best qualities: dedication, and loyalty. However boxer suffered a major weakness a naïve trust and an inability to recognize corruption. Animal Farm proved the quote because, in order to reach their dreams and paradise, the animals had to encounter death and major destruction around them.
One particular Saturday night Jim decides to go to town and is meets his local farmer who tells him he found a slaughtered calf's remains with Jim's brand upon the hide. Jims starts worrying about his herd so he goes to check it out. After he sees everything is all good, he goes back home but finds another horse tethered in his barn. He immediately grabs his gun and sneaks in the house but finds Jelka in bed with one of her cousins. In a rage, Jim shoots Jelka' cousin in the head and runs out of the room and rides away into the night.
In Squealer’s version of Snowball’s part of the battle, Snowball was planning to “leave the field to the enemy” (p54). Afterwards, Squealer described how Napoleon was the one who “sprang forward with a cry of ‘death to humanity!’ and sank his teeth into Mr Jone’s leg” when everything was so chaotic (p54). During his speech, Squealer describe everything in so much detail that it “seemed to the animals that they did remember it” (p54). As a result, Squealer has used propaganda to manipulate the memories of the animals so they would believe that Napoleon is the rightful person to trust and Snowball was actually on the side of the enemy. Another form of propaganda was when the pigs started to twist the seven commandments, a list of seven rules the animals in animal farm must follow, to their own needs.
