Physical Security Client's Assessment Janet Roberts AJS 585 June 23, 2014 Instructor: Matthew Brandt Physical Security Client's Assessment Physical security describes measures that prevent or deter attackers from accessing a facility, resource, or information stored on physical media. (Physical Security Programs, System and Technology UOP ). In today’s world of advancing technology it is important for people and businesses to protect themselves against crime. Many organizations and home owners have taken security measure to protect their home, offices, and property. Many people have taken measures and have alarm systems in place at their homes and businesses for protection. There have been many advances in alarm and other systems in the last twenty years. People can have wireless systems and have the option of doing their own surveillance from their own computers, smart phones, and tablets. There are many other advances that help make security easier. Building security is important because you want to prevent an intruder from causing damage, stealing property, or harming employees. It is also very important to protect the grounds of the office or home from an intruder. It is beneficial to have security in place to prevent an intruder from getting onto the grounds in the first place. If the intruder cannot get onto the grounds in the first place, then they will not be able to be able to commit crime. In today’s world there are more and more cybercrimes being committed and protecting sensitive information such as social security numbers is crucial. Protecting the perimeter with fences is another way to help keep building and homes safe. Security is an important issue.
