(2 paragraphs) The two most prominent scenes in my point of view were Angels in America and Reasons to be pretty. The main motives of the protagonists were to show the antagonists that theater does not suck. By showing these scenes the protagonist showed that a lot can be conveyed by theater. Different scenes have different stories to tell. In Angels in America this covers the taboos of sexual identity. There were two couples in this story. One was a man and a woman. The other was man and a man. In the man and the woman, the woman named Harper was having doubts about her partner’s sexual identity. Thus they are having problems. In the other relationship, one of the partner is not sure if he still loves him, thus it creates a tension between them. In Reasons to be pretty can one word really escalate to a full out argument? Either case this make the scene very dramatic. One couple just shouting at one another because she heard from her friend that she was not as pretty as another girl. Steph whom was very mad at her boyfriend Greg for what he said, confronted him. Emotions can be felt in these scenes. Therefore the purpose for these scenes is to show powerful feelings of love, hate, doubt, trust and what it takes to be in a relationship. This makes a powerful statement for our protagonists that theater does not
