Peer Pressure
Peer Pressure refers to the influence exerted by a person or group in encouraging a person to challenge his or her attitudes, values, or behavior in order to fit in to group norms. Some examples of peer pressure are smoking to be “cool” like the other kids, the same for drugs and alcohol. Although the most peer pressure shown today is sexual.
A very close friend and I shared everything with each other. She told me that she and her new boyfriend had became sexual active,   she told me that it was not what she wanted but she couldn’t lose her boyfriend because of it. So she agreed to have sex with him but she told me that it became an everyday problem and she wanted it to stop. So I told her just to talk to him and tell him how she really feels about it. When she talked to him he said that she either does it or they are not going to date anymore. So again she gives in and does what she does not want to do. I feel like this is a very good example of peer pressure.
