Introduction The PC that I chose is the HP Pavillion Touch-Screen All-in-One computer. The touch-screen feature of this computer is the main reason why I selected it, besides the other latest technological features it has, being that not many computers come touch-screen. The Mac model I chose for comparison is the iMac, being that it’s the newest model that is available, plus Apple doesn’t offer much of a diverse selection when it comes to the desktops. Processor The AMD A6-series processor on the HP computer is relatively fast, however it delivers much better graphics than the processor on the Mac computer. Whereas the processor on the Mac doesn’t produce as high-quality graphics, yet provides a little more speed. Operating System The HP computer comes with the Windows 8 operating system, which I have only read positive reviews about. There are many advantages with this operating system. The most popular is that it starts up faster. “In a comparison with Mac OS X Mountain Lion, Windows 8 started up faster. And it's not just startup time: Windows 8 ran several benchmark performance tests quicker than either Windows 7 or Mountain Lion” (Muchmore, 2013). A few other benefits of the Windows 8 operating system include the Windows 8 exclusivity of apps, which can be utilized through the touch-screen feature of the computer, new online storage, and better security. In comparison, the Mac’s OS X Mountain Lion processor does possess a few of the same benefits such as improved security and online storage, however when it comes to having the latest technology, I believe that the Windows 8 definitely wins. Hard Disk Capacity and Random Access Memory Both computers possess the same hard disk capacity of 1TB (terabyte), which is a decent amount of storage for someone who will be utilizing their computer for school and personal use. They also both have the same 8GB
