Can Students Learn Critique The article “Can Students Learn to Learn?” focuses on why some students perform better in school than others. There are many different reasons because all students vary but some of the main factors relate to the need for students to have metacognition. Metacognition is being able to understand why we learn the way we learn. A student with metacognition may realize after a disappointing test that they didn’t study hard enough and need to devote more time to academics; but a student without metacognition may just blame the professor. I find this argument logical because by understanding the way we learn we can perform better in school.

First of all by doing you homework you’re actually studying because you’re learning the material while you do it, or you are getting to see how well you actually know the material.
Paying attention in class I could learn lessons quicker. By learning them quicker I will not be as behind as someone who is not paying attention. A.P. classes help quite a lot on a student’s plate such as to help ease up the student’s load in college, to save money on their tuition costs. As well as how often enough A.P. students are able graduate early because of the extra credits from the class and from the Advanced Placement exam.
If you received As in sophomore year, and Cs in senior year, they will conclude that you are a capable student who became lazy. Coursework High school graduation requirements vary from school to school. Most students have the opportunity to take more classes (or credits) then are required to graduate. If you take only the minimum, colleges will conclude that you are doing the least you must do to get by. If you take extra classes (or credits) but they are soft-ball classes (like basket-weaving or calisthenics), this looks just as bad.
