Unfortunately, this focus appears to be fading in many of the churches my wife and I have visited in recent years. I know that in my own life, I have been focused more on my personal relationship with God and less with spreading the Gospel. New View of Evangelism Although I was well aware of the “Great Commission” when this course began, in practice I thought that practical evangelism is the responsibility of professional ministers. I have witnessed when the opportunity presented, however I did not feel a driving passion to evangelize the lost. I was more concerned about my personal walk.

There are so many solutions that people in the church can contribute to concerning social injustice. For example, people can arrange to meet with their pastor to bring up topics in church that would bring awareness to social injustice and that could cause a chain reaction for others to start talking about issues of society in a way that would inspire action. Also, someone could create a presentation about social issues and present it in their church. I feel the churches in today’s society do not deal with social justice issues, even though they may discuss them, but that is the only length they will go to. Churches need to go beyond just talking about social justice issues.
In most jobs, you probably can't just walk up and get in someone's face about Christ. You have to be sensitive to the situation and open to the Spirit opening the door. We are not supposed to go out and try and convert the non-Christian soldiers, but if they ask about Christ, chaplains are free to share what he/she believes. He went to church every Sunday and even though he heard the words the preacher was saying he did not learn a thing, which made his parents worry and they prayed for him often that he would soon find his way to the Lord. He was also, like many of us, he hated going to school. It wasn't until he got the hang of it that he started to enjoy going. He started to notice that math was starting to make sense and that geography was not just colors on a map but real places. His parents were starting to notice how smart he was and they thought that maybe he was to smart for the 6th grade so they moved him to 7th grade which turned out to be a bad idea because that is when he started to hate school and it was soon after that, that at the age of 14 he would drop out of school.
Did the creator of the universe create the heavens, seas, humans, and the sun in six days? When I was younger, these stories weren’t just stories but factual history to me. But I went through a phase of total disbelief and rejection of anything that is Catholic. One time, my mom urged me to go with her to a Catholic seminar where this special group of Catholic nuns and priest only visit San Jose once in a while. It wasn’t mass but I vaguely remember it was more of a long, intense session of prayer.
Cold Blooded Soldier In some countries children have to join the army at a very young age, whether they like it or not. Ishamael Beah, the author of the book A Long Way Gone, had to join the army at the age of thirteen to fight against the rebels in the Civil War in Sierra Leone, which made Beah lose his innocence and struggle to understand himself. When the war happened, Beah lost his family, and he had to be on his own to escape the rebels. After a couple months, Beah joined the army and became a cold blooded soldier, who wasn’t afraid to kill anybody. However, later, with the help of teachers and a nurse, Beah started to trust people again.
