Those parents have to stay vigorously involved in schooling their kids. Surely the obligation to ensure our nation’s future must be shared also by those who don’t have children in the public schools. Those people who should take an interest in the students that will eventually be stepping into the workforce. They should be developing work-study groups, internships and job placement banks that they can recruit and develop to be successful. Evidently, the tasks of educating our children nowadays are a lot more difficult than simple examinations and easy solutions.

In the novel To Kill a Mockingbird, by Harper Lee both Atticus Finch and Aunt Alexandra have strong senses of morality and both understand how things should be, but each reacts to things differently as Aunt Alexandra is very class conscious, judges people by their family while Atticus rejects this notion of “fine families” and values honesty, hard work, fairness and compassion. By examining the differing parenting skills and contrasting ancestry and family pride of both Atticus and Alexandra it is certain that Alexandra is more committed to southern tradition, while Atticus is the ideal man who shows ultimate accomplishment and achievement.
Students must be taught within themselves and not by society. Education will always be a part of society and society will always be a part of education which is why Baldwin states the importance of the responsibility for teachers to change society if they consider themselves as an educated person. To me it is very critical for all of the educators, and especially “those who deal with the minds and hearts of young people” (P.123, L.6-7) to take the greatest care in nourishing out minds and our actions based on the global societal truths. Values are what you want and need to achieve the goals you set for yourself and your family. Values can be obtained in many different ways. The most important piece for building values is your family. I am responsible as a mother for teaching my children what is right or wrong before, any other influence reaches them. I can only wish that what I have already instilled in my two children is a reflection of myself as a parent.
Readers can learn to follow the examples of the good parent and they can now avoid doing bad things to their own children. Atticus and Calpurnia had done their part as great parents and surely Jem and Scout would grow up to be good parents themselves. Wayson also spoke about teacher student relations and how to open your classroom for more effective learning. He talked about not embarrassing a student, but in turn seeking alternate ways of getting your message across. This is something that we have touched on throughout the course, but something I feel to be very important. I think its imperative that as teachers we think about what our actions have the power to do. At the elementary level, we are shaping how students feel about themselves which can affect them the rest of their lives.
Discipline, respect, maturity, knowledge, critical thinking ability, interpersonal skills, and confidence. Throughout all these traits we learn about them one by one by making mistakes and learning from them. The times we would disrespect our parents when we were young there were consequences for our actions. Growing up and getting older is part of life. Learning how to be mature but still fun and young hearted is a must to stay healthy in EMS.
