One Mixed-Up Chick by Elaine Evain exposition Oliver was one of the experiments conducted by our daughter , Peggy ,in her veterinary studies at college. Something went wrong and all of the chicken embryos succumbed before reaching term. Our daughter ,Peggy was organizing an experiment in her veterinary(connected with caring for animals) studies at college and one of these was Oliver.Through her experiments something went wrong and all the chicken embryos died before reaching term. All except Oliver. From his first cheep it was impossible not to love this yellow ball of fluff on two weeks, Peggy was obliged to feed the chick every hour.She made a paste from cornmeal and water , then offered a fingertipful to Oliver, which he pecked at enthusiastically. All apart from Oliver.From his very first twitter (faint shrill sounds) it was impossible not to love him because on two weeks he was like a yellow ball of fluff.Peggy had to feed the chick every hour. She made a dough from cornmeal (flour made of corn) and water, then gave Oliver a little, which he hit it with his beak eagerly. Rising action Soon Oliver was given free rein. He wandered from room to room, pecking at anything that shined : mirrors, keys, teeth. Peggy's call of 'Oliver' would bring him running. But then he had an encounter with authority. He was kicked off campus for eating all the prize worms in the school greenhouse. Soon Oliver was given complete freedom.He walked aimlessly from room to room, hitting anything that shined by his beak:mirrors, keys,teeth.Whwn Peggy called his name he came rapidly.But then he faced the power of authority.He was fired from campus because he had eaten all the prize worms in the school greenhouse. Oliver was three weeks old when Peggy brought him home. She knew that at our house Oliver would be loved. Peggy had been bringing stray animals
