The head sheriff of this tourist town has a man-eating shark on the loose and wants to keep everyone out of the water until the capture the shark. Though Brody is afraid of water himself he knows the dangers this shark can hold for the town. His goal is to kill the shark in hope to keep the beaches safe. His motif through the film is fear. He is in fear that more people are going to die and that his son will die to this shark.
Joe’s father puts time and money into this fishing rod. As it says in the Bible “Where your treasure is there shall your heart be.” This is true for Joe’s father. Joe’s father has put his treasure or finances into the fishing rod. Yet his love for Joe allows him to give up his prized possession, the fishing rod, and allow Joe to use it while fishing with his friend. Syntax plays a huge role in developing Joes thoughts and feeling concerning his
Nemo said that he would swim inside the net and tell all the other fish to swim down, but there was, however, one thing stopping them. Marlin. Nemo was able to convince his dad in letting him attempt this. This was the biggest decision Marlin had ever made. There was no way the old Marlin would let Nemo take this risk even if it was for Dory because it's simply too dangerous and with Nemo's bad fin, he wouldn't want to risk it. However, he learned to let go and believe that Nemo can do this and with Marlin's approval Nemo was suceeded in his plan and the fish, including Dory were freed.
The people behind us clapped. The old man waved them off and sat back down in the skiff to fan his face again”. The way Sonny explains what is happening seems like he has no clue what was going on and why they are doing the things they do. Another thing that happened in the chapter was Sonny and Keo went to catch a shark to show the director what a real one looks like. The boys set a trap for the shark and waited until the next day to find the buoy twenty feet underwater.
The D’Angelos need to forgive the boys for drilling holes in the kayak, essentially killing Ben, because JT and Digger received a punishment. By forgiving the boys, the D’Angelos allow all of them the opportunity to move on from the incident. Next, forgiveness is a main theme because Brady needs to forgive JT and Digger. Brady is very upset that his friends go behind his back and use his idea to sabotage the kayak. Digger makes him feel like its partly his fault because he gave them the idea of drilling the holes in the kayak.
Marlin is very nervous and scared to go out in the great blue sea. He also has a fear that he may never see his only son Nemo again. Marlin feels he may have loss the only thing he had left of him. Marlins style of life is that he is very cautious of his surrounding because he doesn't want to be put in the situation he was in when his wife and children were eaten by the shark. Marlin may have been a whole different clownfish with a different personality if the event of his wife and children being attacked was handled in a different fashion.
I continued to cast at the bank making long cast for a deeper run of the crank bait. “Get the net” as I set the hook on a nice fish that seemed was going to be a problem since this was my first time actually catching a fish out of a boat. As the fish jumped a couple times out of the water trying to throw the crank bait my partner says “Nice fish” as he nets the fish and lets me know it is about the same size he caught. I was so excited I couldn`t wait to catch another
‘You see how many starfish there are? You’ll never make a difference.’ The boy paused thoughtfully, and picked up another starfish and threw it into the ocean. ‘It sure made a difference to that one,’ he said (45).” The Hawaiian parable, this had to be the most inspiring part of the book to me. Hearing stories of how one person was able to do all these incredible things to make life better for people, I still feel uninspired. I don’t have the resources those people do; I would think I’m wasting my time unless it turns into one of those really huge projects and organizations I keep hearing about.
Everyone has a different way that they fish. There is no right way to fly fish just so long as the person enjoys the sport of it and every once in a while catches a fish. The boy’s father believed that there was a certain technique that should be followed in order to be graced with the catch of a fish. It wasn’t until mid way into the film that Paul dared to go outside of his father’s way and fish how he felt best. Not only does this prove that there is no certain way to go by in order to succeed, but it also proves that success comes from all
I've never been fishing before let alone riding in a fishing boat. A couple of hours before the derby was to start my Uncle Deck was to going to teach me the fine "art" of fishing. The thought of hooking my own worm made me want to scream, just the feeling of the worms body sliding in and out of my fingers sent shivers down my spine. It was the most disgusting think I ever felt, but eventually I came over my fear and was able to hook the worm myself, just in time for the derby to start .Although I didn't catch the "big one" but the one I did catch was a twelve pound large mouth bass, it took me about forty-five minutes to finally reel it in. Uncle Deck surprised me before we left the cabin, he had the large-mouth bass I caught taxidermy and mounted on a wooden plaque for me, to this day it still hangs on the wall of my grandparents house.
