My Friend Sarah

I met Sarah in the seventh grade. We met as best friends, and it only got deeper. We were two peas on a pod. We liked the same sort of things, such as talking, laughing, joking around, and of course, getting into trouble. Oh yes, we specifically did this the best. Teachers often had to seat us on the opposite sides of the room from each other, so we resorted to talking very loudly to each other from our confined areas. There really was no remedy to keep us apart. I had never been able to define the term 'best friend' until Sarah came along. She has since become my definition. In the event of having each others backs, we'd say, “Sarah and Marian, 100%”. We were constantly there for one another, even after she left our school in the ninth grade. I actually believe this made us tighter, if that were even possible. I have never been so comfortable around one person as I was around Sarah. Something about her made me confident. When we weren't together, we'd spend hours talking on the phone, and when friday night rolled around, it was understood that Sarah and I had plans. An Event: On June 19th, 2011, Sarah and our mutual friend, Tayler, were driving to meet up with me to go to dinner. After being twenty minutes late, I tried calling Sarah to see what was up. I remember feeling as if they had decided to ditch me and go else where instead. After an hour or so, Sarah's mother called me and asked if I knew where Sarah and Tayler were. Having no idea, I hung up the phone and became extremely worried. Something was wrong. So absolutely wrong. A few hours later, my mom came into my room and told me she had received a call from Caroline, Sarah's mother. Caroline told my mom that Sarah and Tayler had been in a horrible car accident and were both rushed to ICU at Vanderbilt Medical Hospital. Naturally I broke down in tears, not knowing that there would be many more to come. I
