By being independent individuals we don’t have to wait on other peoples support or permission to do certain things. We don’t have to go out of our way to please somebody else because we do as we want. When we are independent our confidence meter starts to rise up, it gives us that extra boost of motivation we desire to achieve new things. I believe that we are the creators of our own life, that we all have the same power to start and finish new goals but only a few have the actual strength and correct mind set to do it. Equality 7-2521 says that “the guiding star is within me” and that it points to just one direction, and that direction is “me”.

One of the plans was to motivate staff to reach goals in a positive manner. One of the practical example that was given is to use contests and incentives to help keep workers motivated and feeling rewarded. I could immediately relate and understand the task at hand. With hands on, I am able to do, and perform the learned skill as it is being taught to me. I recently started a new position at my current work place and the software that this department uses is totally different from what I was accustom to using for the past thirteen years.

They are also an example for us to improve our learning process in our life. Zappos owners wanted his company to be fun and weird, making sure to stay adventurous with an open mind. Zappos is also a company that lives by growth and setting goals, so with that comes learning. Zappos is always up on learning the new\and building honest, open relationships, having effective communication within the company and their consumers. Zappos figured out how to accomplish more by doing less by being determined and passionate about their company and remaining humble. Nick has done a successful job at making the company a fun environment to work for, making it exciting for the employees, giving them a reason to want to go to work.

The ability to have a mode of thinking that enables us to communicate effectively and form good problem solving abilities. Good thinking skills give one the ability to analyze and assess a problem or situation so as to find the right corrective measures to solve the issue at hand. Critical Thinking is self directed and self disciplined. Critical thinkers are always working to improve the skills of reasoning and intellectual abilities which enable them to try and improve the world around them.

Some of the global changes like the drinking age have not also affected my life. They have almost got me into some trouble but gave me some great times and memories to remember for the rest of my life and maybe even pass on as wise stories for my kids.
