In return for services, the Seljuk Turks gave Ertuğrul, a territory in Eskisehir. Osman expanded his Ghazi territory. and conquered a significant portion of Asia minor, dying before he captured Bursa. Bursa was captured by his son, Orkhan, who made it his capital. Subsequent rulers continued the expansion.
In the mid-12th century, the Turkic ruler Saladin rose to lead the Seljuks and succeeded in uniting the fragmented Muslim armies of Southwest Asia and North Africa. To Saladin, the Christian armies were the infidels that had to be evicted. When Saladin’s forces took Jerusalem, the call went out across Europe to launch another crusade. Three kings came forward-Emperor Frederick Barbarossa of Germany, King Phillip II of France, and King Richard I, later known as Richard the Lionheart of England. Held in 1187-1192.

For the next two centuries the Turkish military leaders ruled over the parts of the empire it conquered until it was eventually no longer the Abbasid Empire. Beginning its intrusions in the East, the Turkish invasions on the Byzantine Empire slowly gained them more Byzantine territory until finally in 1453, the Turks gained control of the capitol Constantinople and all the land that remained under Byzantine control. Similarly, the invasions began by capturing small portions of the Byzantine and Islamic worlds until eventually they created an immense impact and the Turks had conquered and gained control over the entire empire. Being firm believers of the Sunni religion, the Turks had a large religious influence that impacted the lands they conquered. As they gained control over the lands, they quickly ridded the Abbasid Empire of the Shi’a officials and advanced the protection of their lands from the Shi’a caliphs and their armies.

After researching and reading about David Dwight Eisenhower, I have learned a lot. I believe that Eisenhower was one of the greatest presidents we ever had. Eisenhower's greatest strength as a General was his ability to get all the other big leaders of the western allies to form a consensus.
Knight was given the nickname, “The General” by Dick Vitale because the he was highly educated in military history. Indiana reached the Final Four in 1973, losing to UCLA. In 1976, the Hoosiers were undefeated at 32-0 and won championship, beating Michigan 86-68 in the title game. Knight’s Hoosiers also won championships in 1981. When Indiana won the 1979 NIT championships, Knight led the U.S. national team to a gold metal in the Olympic Games as coach of the Michael Jordan team.
In 1447 Vlad Dracul was assasinated along with his son Mircea. Mircea was apparently buried alive by the boyars and merchants of Tirgoviste. Hunyadi placed his own candidate, a member of the Danesti clan, on the throne of Wallachia. On receiving the news of Vlad Dracul's death the Turks released Dracula and supported him as their own candidate for the Wallachian throne. In 1448 Dracula managed to briefly seize the Wallachian throne with Turkish support.
