Claudio was too scared to confront Hero and confess his feelings and so Don Pedro promised that he would speak to Leonato about setting them up. But this still scared Claudio and he can’t tell Hero he loves her so Don Pedro said he’ll organise something where he can pretend to be Claudio and fix them up and admit his feelings towards her as Claudio. Personally, I think it might be a bit strange to have the Prince chat up the girl that Claudio loves but as long as his love is returned, everything shall be

Friar Laurence realises that Romeo is very hasty and quick in things, since Romeo had lost his love for Rosaline in one night. Therefore, he tells Romeo that he should slow down a bit. However, Romeo stood firm in his decision of loving Juliet. Friar Laurence quotes in Act II Scene III that, “Young men’s love then lies/Not truly in their hearts, but in their eyes.” This describes that Friar Laurence speaks wisely. However, Friar Laurence isn’t very clever when he tried to marry Juliet and Romeo.
He wishes she could eventually become his wife because she is beautiful and compassionate. Suspicion arises at the end of the opening scene when we are introduced to Don John. He claims to have reconciled with Don Pedro, however he does not say much the entire scene. His silence reveals that he may be plotting something malicious in the near future. Overall, the opening scene helps provoke a reader’s curiosity and add drama to the
Then they meet, fall in love and get married. Romeo is more impulsive and doesn’t think where Juliet is smarter about and thinks about things. But in the end love and fate triumphs and they die for each other causing their ancient family feud to
In much ado about nothing, marriage is another strong theme being that the story line is based around Claudio wanting to marry hero. From the first scene in the book Claudio wants to marry hero and seemingly nothing will stop him. In the odyssey, Odysseus’s main flaw is his pride and his inability to take an insult. This is bad in the odyssey because he insults the gods after his battles with his boastful pride which in turn angers them greatly. This is one of the reasons Poseidon decided to punish Odysseus and keep his ship at sea for so long.
Firstly, Romeo goes to the Capulet’s party, which is a choice he makes. Romeo finds out about a party when the Capulet servant does not know how to read the invite list. When he sees Romeo he asks him to read the names and Romeo sees his object of affection Rosaline. Romeo tells Benvolio and they go to the party: “Ill go along no such sight to be shown” (I.II.100). Romeo knows better then going to the party
This is highlighted when the Friar succumbs to the desires of the young lovers, “you two shall not be alone, till holy church incorporate two in one”. By permitting the two to wed, Friar Lawrence’s intentions may have been good, but he ultimately contributes to their “doomed” romance by not informing Romeo and Juliet’s parents of their marriage. In contrast to the bliss of the marriage, Romeo is soon banished for murdering Tybalt, where Friar Lawrence remains ignorantly optimistic that he can somehow help the two young lovers remain together. Through this episode Friar Lawrence still strives for the young lovers happiness in hope that all will come together, but he fails to see the destructiveness of Romeo and Juliet’s relationship, thus through lack of guidance can be held responsible for the continuance of their affair. This is further illustrated when Juliet is forced to marry Count Paris when Friar Lawrence presents her with an alternative, “I’ll give thee remedy”.
He wishes that he did not have to be in this position because, “Jay Gatsby is in love with Daisy, but is unable to pursue her…” (Thomson). Back when he was not as wealthy as he is now, Daisy left him and was not able to be with her. Gatsby has his mind set on living in the past, he says, “Can’t repeat the past…Why of course you can!” (Fitzgerald, 111). He thinks that meeting Daisy will set everything back in time, to when they were in love. Gatsby invites Daisy to one of his big party bashes and says to Nick, “I’m going to fix everything just the way it was before.” (Fitzgerald 111).
With all the things that Friar Lawrence did, none helped the cause with the trouble Romeo had. The Friar had terrible advice he shouldn’t have given to young Romeo. He is a foolish old man who doesn’t know how to just say “No.” One example is that when Romeo came to Friar after crashing the Capulet party and seeing his love, Juliet, he went to Friar and asked him to marry the new couple. Friar agrees to do this act thinking that it would solve the war between the Montagues vs Capluets and this was the first mistake made. This would only make the situation worse once someone in either family would find out.
