Mountain biking story – A day on the pedals After a long drive, I've finally arrived at the forest. The smell of oil fills my nostrils as I reach my bike off the car rack. As I lift it down I admire it's precise geometry, how much time and effort must have gone into its creation. I throw my day pack over my back, take a slug from my water bottle, and set off. I round another berm and prepare for the upcoming, 1meter high, drop off. I preload the suspension ready to hop off the drop but suddenly, instead of the usual flying sensation, I am falling. The front wheel had rolled over the edge of the drop before I expected it to so I simply held on as I
