When I got onto the track I realized all the hard work and patience over the winter paid off. On the pace lap, had to feel things out to make sure everything was good and nothing felt wrong, no part failures. The flag man waved the green flag that signals that the green flag is out and full speed practice to begin. The Whelen Engineering lights turned from flashing yellow to solid green. I grabbed the shifting lever and shifted into high gear and foot to the floor full throttle.
Driving Experience Learning a new skill can be a challenging and exciting experience. I decided to learn to drive after I came to the united state because I feel that will be more convenience to work and school. I have never driven in my native country so I was so exciting to learn about it. After I took the written test to get a learner's permit, my uncle had been taught me on the weekend for one month. I learned all the parking skills, driving skills and the ability of handle emergency before I took the driving test.
I knew it was time, I knew what he worked hard for will pay off with this show. We take the field and get set, the awkward silence disturbed by the sound of the roaring wind. I tried my best to stand still, the cold metal of my instrument freezing the tips of my delicate fingers. I hear the name of our marching band one more time, and watch as our drum major gives off the first beats. His arms swinging smoothly as a birds’ wings.
I have raced my truck since the day I got it and I love going fast. My favorite thing to do is tear through dirt and mud in my truck. which is why I belive that stock car racing would be a great career for me. It is all about tearing through the dirt and going fast. Another thing I love to do is work on vehicles.
Pirsig proposes a novel idea in the first chapter of his book, Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance, regarding the issue of values in relation to time. The narrator of the story has set out on a motorcycling road trip across America’s Northwest with his son, and two good friends, John and Sylvia. The narrator says, “We want to make good time, but for us now this is measured with emphasis on ‘good’ rather than ‘time’ and when you make that shift in emphasis the whole approach changes” (5). I was struck by this statement and was propelled into reflection, asking myself ‘What makes quality time?’ How do I know as a human that I am making the most of my time and that at the end of my life I will have spent the time I’ve been given on this Earth in a manner that is ‘quality’? 1,440 minutes.

Dirt bike Jump I see the jump and I think to myself “you can do it, you seen other people doing it, how hard can it be”? I knew I had to just have to do it before I started second guessing myself. I reach my hand down and pull the kick-start out. I put my foot to the kick-start take a deep breath and drop my foot down on the kick-start and hear the engine roar to life. I twist my wrist and give a few confidence boosting revs of the engine, hearing the exhaust crackle as let off the throttle.
Robert Cormier does a phenomenal job writing this amazing story about a boy on his bike. The rebellious, relaxed, and compound relationship between Adam and Amy add even more depth to the book. The noun, “sport” is defined as, “an activity involving physical exertion and skill in which an individual or team competes against another or others for entertainment”. Horseback riding, as many people choose to disagree, is a perfect example of a sport. The dripping in sweat summers, and the freezing cold, yet “we’re still moving for some reason” winters is what the horseman lives for. We work hard at our sport all year round, putting our all into the moment we get dropped off at the barn, until the moment we leave for the day. Horseback riding is a sport with many different disciplines, all with their own challenges.
It was a long stretch to the other side of the field, as I rushed like lightning towards my target. Two defenders are at my side, but I’m quick to evade and dash full force towards my approaching victory. I shoot the ball, which flies like an eagle swooping in on prey from above, into the bottom left corner of the goal. As I run off the field and jump in my car to go home, I think about the complexity of my essay on “Athletic People vs. Non-Athletic People”, and how John Doe, my non-athletic friend, completed his essay two days ago. This is just one incident of how strenuous an athlete’s life is compared to a non-athlete’s.
