Ana Maria Castro. Professor Michele Fievre ENC 1101 31 October 2013. Modern Family Sofia Vergara Modern Family is a comedy TV show, which culturally represents actual American roles and reality. The show is about three different types of American families. Each family has their own way of life and perception of what’s right and what’s wrong. One of the families is a gay couple with a six years old daughter, which shows a real situation that America is going through right now. There is also a straight couple with three kids and a multicultural couple with two kids. Gloria, the housewife of the multicultural family, is from a little town in Colombia. She is married to an American man who is older. They have two male children. One is a pre-teen and the other is a baby. She really loves her family and she will do anything for them without a doubt. As a Hispanic woman, she is very passionate, vivacious, sexy and straight forward. She knows what she wants, what she likes and what it takes to have it. However, her strong accent and personality make her funny and sexy at the same time. She certainly likes to be the star and center of attention and she definitely accomplishes this by wearing sexy clothes and high heels. Gloria is not the star character but is one of the main supporting characters. Her personality and role make her more notorious and funny in comparison to the other characters of the show. In respect to her family, she absolutely is the major character. Her husband wouldn’t do anything to get her mad or upset. Every decision has to be consulted with her and she always makes sure her opinion is heard. The majority of the time, she is the decision maker at home. She might listen to what her husband and son has to say, but at end she does what she feels is right. In some of the situations, she completely manipulates her husband and son’s
