Essay 2 Life changing lessons I all remember those teachers who encouraged me to be better than average, and everyone has at least someone in their life that I admire. Until now, there are two teachers who have influenced in my life. One of them is Mrs. Chau in elementary, and the other one is Mrs. Jennifer who taught my first ESL class. They are the one who raised my standards and change my life. I was six years old when my father moved our family from suburbs of Tien Giang to Saigon city, where I encountered my first teacher, Mrs. Chau at elementary school. Later in life I would feel as if she were my second mother. My life was the same routine everyday: I came to class where she always kissed my forehead and asked me how I was doing. She would then start the class by singing a song to get everyone in the spirit. I feel the routine day were similar to my mom who usually kissed me and told me a Vietnamese fairy tale before I went to sleep. Morals class was the class I paid special attention to my first school year. She made me understand what morals are in everyday human life. She taught me to love my parents because they gave birth to me and took care of me growing up. She taught me to accept my mistakes and responsibility when I did something wrong. She also taught me to appreciate and thanks what I received from others. However, forgiveness was the best lesson I learned from her. She wasn’t mad when others talked bad about her and always forgave them while teaching them the importance of being polite. I realized what she did and it resulted in students never talked bad again. Forgiveness makes people become a better person, which Mrs. Chau, my first teacher taught me. Due to Mrs. Chau’s lesson, I was able to forgave my brother for abandoned my parents when I was still young because they were too poor. I immigrated to the US with my family
