to get settled in our dorms, get acquainted with our new roommates, and get our team shirts that we would have to wear everyday during the conference. When I arrived that morning I was so tired from packing all night, but I was surely awaken by the super loud and excited welcoming staff. I could tell that each and every one of them was so excited to be there and embark on that amazing journey with us. In the process of giving us our keys to our dorm and our shirts, the staff reminded us that we could not have our cell phones or any other electronic devices. This part was kind of devastating to most of us because like most teenagers we were all into our phones, IPods, and laptops.

Like chapter four, chapter six breaks the chronological order or events and goes back into Gatsby’s past, full of flashbacks. Now Gatsby has completely changed after having finally met Daisy again, he now throws his usual party but it’s the first since he’s met her and it’s very clear to a lot of people that this party isn’t as enchanting as all the other parties he has been having, like the one in chapter three. Chapter six is divided into four sections; the first section is all about Nick’s retrospective account of Gatsby’s youth/past. It is written in retrospective, very testimonial and unreliable. Nicks starts of talking about Gatsby very convincingly, like he’s knows exactly what he’s doing.
Ryan Bodine Instructor Barnes Eng 101/304 03 September 2014 A Night in Alcohol Hell It started as any normal day, until I found out everything about me was going to change. When I walked into Prosciutto’s Pub and Pizzeria that Saturday night I was expecting to deliver pizzas, instead I walked into an agitated group of bar patrons. The bartender had not shown up and the owner, Joel Pyffer, was looking to me to fill his shoes. It was my big chance! My first night as a bartender, I encountered chaos like no other; luckily my ability to keep calm would teach me a lifelong lesson.
<BR> My best friend has been into the rave scene for some time now and has talked about all the parties she has been to. She invited me to a rave about a year ago and I did not know what I was getting into. I had seen a special about raves on one of those boring new shows that thinks it knows everything; I think it was 20/20. It talked about the raves in detail and explained how raves were becoming mainstream. My friend had seen the special too, and could not disagree.
Pretty much everything the Army uses for communication. I was at Ft. Gordon for a while, I brought my Cell and Laptop. When I first got there, they tried to take it away, because the first part is a Basic Training Environment. Not so much stress, but you don't really have alot of freedom. From there you move up to other levels that allow you to go out on weekends, then eventually stay out for the whole weekend.
Elizabeth L., Paper 1 How could anyone forget the day America was attacked? I obviously had shut my alarm clock off assuming it was Saturday. A couple of moments later I jumped out of bed realizing I had overslept. I was going to be late for work, which is so unlike me. I made my way out the door and headed onto the highway.
Liz Gomez English 101 Mr. Tafarella 3/9/11 On Monday of last week I woke up with the biggest headache ever and believe me I was not ready to go to class but I really didn’t want to miss the video that Mr. Tafarella was going to show us, so I got up, got ready and decided I had nothing to lose and I went to class. Once at school we had a lot of trouble trying to get the video to work and finally there it was; the most interesting subject I could have ever come across “Jonestown” To tell you the truth at first I was a little bit confused because I had never heard of this story, but once the documentary got going I was not able to take my eyes off of it. After the documentary ended I realized I wanted to know even more. I mean, I couldn’t
As the dual progressed my team wrestled with purpose, passion and power. Finally, it was my turn to step out on that mat and put to work all my physical and mental preparation. The fans were roaring with excitement, the gym was full of supporters, my mind was racing and my heart was pounding. A moment of self-doubt overtook me: one mistake and all my dedication and drive would not pay off and I would let my team and school down. As the match began my mind was blank for the entirety of the first period and I relied on my body to do what it was trained to do.
The next morning which was Saturday, I had awakened with the worst hangover and was reeking with the smell of wine and vomit. That afternoon our family was going to a wedding reception where there was more wine and champagne. I recall seeing a fountain full of bubbling champagne sitting on a table, as I passed by it the smell made get nauseated all over again and waiting to just puke. I learned my lesson from that day until this day to never over drink again. This learning experience was a very valuable one.
