Beowulf and Batman also reveal being noble birth. Beowulf demonstrates his noble birth in his argument with Unferth. “You murdered your brothers, your own close kin. Words and bright wit won’t help your soul; you’ll suffer hell’s fires, Unferth, forever tormented” Beowulf is telling Unferth that it is wrong to commit murder. Instead of killing criminals, Batman frequently lets them go.
Gray is a “[…] brainless beautiful creature […]” (Wilde 2), Two-Face is not pleasant-looking, due to an unfortunate event; “[…] a vengeful mob boss hurled acid in his face…” (DC Universe) scarring his face for life. Both men began as good people, but because of a series of events, both became bad, each in their own separate ways, but neither sought world domination, unlike many other villains. Both had girlfriends while living as good people, but once each man turned bad, their girlfriends died young and tragically. Both men also have different experiences concerning the law; Two-Face used to be a district attorney and knew the laws, while Dorian did not have any knowledge of the law. Both men became murderers, but their motives and methods were distinctly different.
The Joker gives the power to the people to get what he wants, which is to create chaos by the death of many people. He wants to prove that people are just as corrupt as he is. Christopher Nolan makes a point that men have power like the Joker does but by the end of the movie no one ends up on top due to corruption. Power is also depicted in the film through the constant battle for power between Batman and the Joker. In the film Batman is presented with two opportunities to kill the Joker but he doesn’t even after the Joker says “I want you to hit me (kill me) ”.
Ethical Systems in Brooklyn’s Finest Examined An Analysis of the Characters We begin our analysis with whom I consider the most interesting and seemingly real-life character of Sal Procida. Sal is a 30-something cop with a family and baby on the way. I am assuming he is working vice and assisting with undercover drug buys. Sal seems to have no problem stuffing his pockets with cash and killing drug offenders along the way. This demonstration of egoism seems to be in interest of survival of his family and himself to make ends meet.
These characters fight villains and keep people safe from harm. As children, we do not acknowledge the fact that these charters are vigilantes committing crimes themselves. Although these characters are technically criminals, many get sucked into the fantasy that they are promoting justice and they themselves are above the law. This vigilante theme is seen in the Troy Duffy film The Boondock Saints that came out in 1999. This film displays an adult version of the crime fighting vigilantes and how modern society might react to these characters.
Beowulf and Batman lived in two different perspectives. Beowulf was not only a king in ancient time for his people but lived as a walking legend due to the brave killings of many mortals. Batman on the other hand wanted to make a difference in all the criminal activity in his city by helping the police catch
Force of Evil It seems difficult enough for Joe Morse to defend a client whom is a powerful gangster but it’s even more surprising when the lawyer joins hands and becomes partners with him. When a lawyer who is familiar with law crosses that ethical line with his gangster client, Ben Tucker then trouble is ahead. The two got a scheme to shut down all the illegal banks in the city, and buy up the ones they want. Joe has an older brother, Leo, a man with heart trouble; Knowing that Leo, an essentially honest man in a dishonest business, will resist joining the syndicate, Joe goes to visit his brother but Leo denounces the proposed alliance with Tucker, then excoriates his brother's lack of principles and reminds him of the sacrifices that he has made to put him through law school. The trouble is, Leo is happy with his small, if not quite ethical, business.
Evil corrupts even the most respected and lawful men. Seth's father, Senior-Constable Paul in 'The Gathering' is an example of this as he is the main police enforcer in Cheshunt and he turns a blind eye to all of Mr Karle's dealings. Many officials become corrupt and don’t rule justly and right. Fear of loss can lead to evil. This is true in the novel 'The Gathering'.
The very people whose job is to protect society will deceive people to make illegal money. The politicians that society elects are no better than the corrupt police officers when he or she takes payoffs from organized crime group. Television programs have made me think about organized crime groups as only large groups that make big money. The neighborhood gang is an organized crime group that disrupts the neighborhood and has no respect for members of the community. Movies like American Gangster made me more interested in learning about organized crime groups.
Non-violent crimes should just be a punishable fine because it saves money for the United States and the federal prisons in the United States. Non-violent crimes in America are rising rapidly and non-violent criminals are being sent to federal prisons or jails for a stupid reason. Like for an example many people are being arrested and sent to prison for selling drugs now how is this a violent crime? Drugs are illegal in America but it’s not really hurting our country right now. The main thing that is hurting our country right now is violence, when you read the news about Chicago they had more murders then the soldiers in Iraq due to gang violence.
