Democratic-This style is used when leaders want to include one or more employees in the decision making it is not a sign of weakness, it is so that the employees will be more confident with their own ideas and decision making. Decision making with your employees will let them gain respect for the leader and become more determined.
When employees feel empathy they give up their best but, on the other hand, when people experience lack of empathy they only work for the money and not for any internal joy. Lastly, there is the need for need to stay connected.A good leader should be able to connect socially with the subordinates and build relationship both within the organization and outside,If a leader can handle relationships well, he will be able to move the whole company on the same line he is towing.s Emotional intelligence can be transmitted from one person to another, so leaders who have emotional intelligence unconscious transfer it to their workers. It beholds on all leaders to have emotional intelligence, those who do not have it can learn since with practicing for a long time throughout the lifetime of a person can help one have it. The cost of training a worker is also reduced as the worker does not have to be trained in every aspect of the company only what he is going to be doing. The immediate drawback to this however is that he will not be trained in the jobs of the other workers, and if he is not there to perform his duty no one else will be able to. For this reason, broad assignment while usually less efficient allows for flexibility in its workforce, which allows the company to pivot for loss in workforce of changes in tasks. Grouping the teams based on function allows for the teams to have higher team coordination and again increases the flexibility of the individual worker. Workers within the function become much more knowledgeable about the function because they work amongst many different products performing the same task in each.

Some employees will try to produce more for fear of losing their jobs, but this does not provide positive motivation which, in my opinion, is a better means of motivation. I do not feel that these ranked appraisals necessarily boost morale by pointing out an employee’s ranking in production when they are hardworking, show up on time, and don’t miss days. For employees that don’t try and don’t want to work, this an excellent tool for trimming the fat, but not a motivational technique. It could also help to make short-term production goals, but could serve to further disgruntle employees without a perceived positive motivational enforcements. From an expectancy theory point of view, in my opinion, the forced ranking performance appraisals would still need to be coupled with goal setting and rewards to motivate the employees to step up their efforts to work harder, and to be more efficient and productive.
This strikes me as a fear of change. He feels he is viewed as an estate agent, and although he has aspirations of a managerial position, he believes that others may not feel the same. He knows he is more than capable of doing the job as he has stood in for the current manager when he has been on leave. I think he feels that he coped then because he always knew the current manager would be returning to correct any potential mistakes? I also think he believes that the other office staff were happy for him to cover, purely because it was a short term thing, and potentially they couldn’t be bothered with the additional workload.

Alan is nervous about the interactions with his employee because he is not confident and that is causing him to pseudo listen to their concerns because he is preoccupied by his lack of confidence to conduct the interviews. Alan is also not using a tactful approach to the conversation as well. A better approach would be to start with what the employee is doing right and build them up before criticizing their work. 2.

Diagnosis I can see from the information Mr X has given me that he has low self esteem and lacks confidence. He does not have the confidence to apply for the job although he has done it on several occasions when the manager has been on holiday, so he is capable of doing it. This is a positive for Mr X and we can work on this during the session. He has low self esteem which will impact on everything he does.
