At the time, it was still expected that the internet would serve largely defense, research, and educational institutions. It was essentially a laboratory experiment on a really large scale. The expectation was that 3.2+ billion addresses would be way more than enough for the anticipated few million users. At the time, nobody had even thought of the world wide web or any consumer applications for the internet. (Tech Crunch; 2/2/2011) 5.)

The Beatles were looking for an opportunity for a job to play and they got that chance when an entrepreneur met a guy who was looking for bands to play for a night club in Hamburg. In liver pool they only had to play one hour sessions, but when they got a job in Hamburg they had to play for eight hours with practice time.
This case is based on an interview of Steve Jobs by Walter Isaacson, the author of Jobs's biography. His saga is the entrepreneurial creation myth writ large. To start with, before there was even a Microsoft, there was very little scope for personal computers and software related to computers back then (Computer changes in the 1970’s). In the beginning of the 1970’s, few people had no idea what their computer technology would lead to and only a few people probably had the vision that they would have been made into what they are now. Contributions As a young industrialist, Michael Dell recognized that addressing and anticipating the consumer’s needs was the answer to a successful company. While attending college Dell ventured into the computer industry and brought this customer-service strategy forward as it laid the basic foundation towards the creation of a multi-billion dollar company as evidenced seven years later by becoming a Fortune 500 Company (Krames, 2003, p. 58). Unlike other computer companies, Dell continued to sharpened his focus on the consumer’s requirements instead of selling his products through computer stores, which was uncommon during this period, forced Dell’s rivals to rethink their strategy to combat Dell’s hold on the market. Interestingly enough Krames (2003) provides insight that Dell’s marketing approach towards “mass customization” (p. 49) was the result of good-natured customer service and forward thinking.
