Summary Response Amadeo Constanzo is the author of “Do You Really Think You Are a Good Writer?” and he believes that if you are in a remedial class English then “instead of wasting time and energy on negative thoughts, use the energy and time to improve your writing” or other skills. Constanzo supports remedial classes because even the best athletes train to be better just like a writer practices to become a better writer. I very much agree with Constanzo because the majors I currently have would eventually deal a lot with presentation documents. I am also in remedial English and I know that it would help me becoming a better writer. Benjamin Franklin once said “If a man empties his purse into his head no one can take it away from him.
When starting with others say you should except that other may not care for what you say causing controversy. It doesn’t always have to start out with a disagreement, but using other resources to start out a paper is always useful because later in the text the reader gets to see if you dis/agree with what others say. Once you have used what others have said be sure to continue it later through out the text. It reminds the reader what you are talking about and it allows you to keep track of not getting off the main subject. If you start jumping around in the text the reader won’t be able to follow along.
With this respect comes a stronger conscience as well as greater morals. Diving deep into ideas on how to earn the idea of respect really emphasized the solution to the whole problem association with young adults and the increase in problems with them. Metaphors can be a great way to simplify a complicated subject to enable a wider variety of audiences to understand it more thoroughly, which essentially leads to greater enjoyment of the reading. A great example of using a metaphor to allow the reader to understand better is when the author states “It is an island apart, striving to maintain itself in a sea of change.” (pg 391). This is referring to how the household is not connected with the outer world and is therefore isolated from any interactions.
‘Textese’ is not as deviant as people think, they make it out to be the biggest first world problem anyone has ever seen but really its only if people are in a real rush that they use it. David Crystal author of ‘Txtng: the Gr8 Db8’ explains that shortening words and changing letters has been around almost forever, since Ancient Egyptians and Shakespeare. The fact that teachers are worried about this generation’s intelligence is also quite absurd. Studies show that the amount of texting we do
I believe that many students need motivations and reasons to do frequent studying, reading, and exercising; therefore frequent in-class exams will give them good reasons and motivations to start reviewing a chapter. Frequent tests will be more efficient in classes that require a lot of readings and memorizing, such as history, politic, geography, etc, because if a student procrastinate his reading until a night before the test, he will be overwhelmed. Another advantage from frequent exams is that students can use their returned exams that have been given feedbacks and the right answers for their study guides to prepare for their midterm or
A.1.a. Pre-K Strengths Because of the ever changing demographics in our system this can be very beneficial and has some great advantages with our program. With more non-English speaking children coming into our system this is encouraging our teachers to learn another language. In return it is helping with the language barrier we are facing in our current days. Our system could also look into hiring more teachers with the added benefit of speaking multiple languages and creating more jobs in our area.
The printing press, by Gutenberg, has grown immensely since the 15th century. It went from being in a few towns in present day Germany to almost all over Europe in a matter of 30 years (Doc. 2). Although the printing press was such a revolutionary achievement, the most important consequences were the dissemination of the words and ideas of the people and educating more citizens. Also it began to stir up conflicts among the beliefs of the churches over time.
George studied English with the author so that he may communicate better with his co-workers. If George improves his English significantly, he may find better jobs with higher salaries, or he may go to school for better education and get even better opportunities. It is typical at first to be in a harsh environment. However, with strong determination, George can achieve the American Dream. Staying on the road to the American Dream is not easy.
Dear Mnings, and my goals from this class are to apply the knowledge that I have previously learned and to learn new ways to express myself. I think that this class can really help improve the way that we write. I am also hoping to make the best of this class and succeed productively. I hope to expand my techniques in writing. I also want to challenge myself to be a better person where my grammar is concerned.
Nowadays, many people on the world learn at least one foreign language because they want to improve themselves. The problem is how to learn a foreign language effectively. I think the best way to learn a foreign language is combination of the two ways: going to class and learning by yourself. When you study the foreign language in class, you have some benefits. You will receive the good materials that provide by school.
