Claudia Delgado Period 5 Into The Wild Chris Mc Candles wasn’t insane he seem he had everything. But at some point he felt he wanted to forget where he came from. He was running from the expectation his family had for him. He was a top student and an athletic he abandons his possessions gives his entire $24,000 savings account to charity. He had enough money to buy himself stuff he needed. His $24,000 would of bought him a lot of equipment and food. People kept trying to buy him equipment but each time he denied them. Mc Candles had problems that made him go into the wild. For example(his parent’s marriage was awful)and his dad’s double life must have been a huge shock. He repaid him by cutting him off. After being in the wild Alex felt he no longer belong in society. He started to learn about the wild and what to expect when he enters a new town. He couldn’t stop at one place when he always needed to be on the road. Alex knew he made the worst decision by going off into the wild where he said “I could summon the strength of character to put a good face on this fucked up situation, on the whole fucked up trip”. He exactly knew what he did wrong but it was to late to fix being all alone surrounded by nature no one around. He got to take more books than food useful stuff .In his journey he loved to read and smoke cigarette. Until he finish his books he had a journal were he got to write in it everyday. He wrote what he did in a his free time what he hunt and ate there were some times that he didn’t ate. When he use his gun to hunt he made one big mistake that he learn not to repeat he killed a moose and flies feed the dead moose. He knew it would be bad to eat that day he started to hunt small animals such as beavers and squirrels. When he made that mistake it seem that Mc Candles had no idea how to hunt in Alaska he hilled a moose it was a waste. Mc Candles ended up realizing that “happiness is only real when shared”. Alex Mc Candles knew in the end that he did but it didn’t matter to him. He was rather happy in the wild center of nature. That was his dream from the begin of summer to live in the wilderness away from the world. He seem to realize that he lived his journey in a great way. He had dangerous situations he would make it for example he abandon his car after a damage by a flash flood and started to set in
