They were only about a mile from where they were. They found an old bunker and a cliff look-over. They started there. About 4 days in they finished the destroyed town. They went to go check the bunker out, but it was bolted shut and just decided not to try.
I believe that is why the story is called “The Story of an Hour” the story is telling us, what had happened during the hour and what happen happened after the hour she finds out that he was a alive. She had her freedom, but soon after her freedom was taken away and she had died. The suspense of “After Twenty Years” was that it was a dark night and you couldn't see a thing. The story was about two men that are meeting again after twenty years of not seeing each other at all. The thing is that the Jimmy is the guy that Bob was talking about and that he had sent someone else to go arrest him, because Jimmy didn't want to arrest his friend.
The sentence is a effective follow-up to the opening paragraph because it makes the reader want to know what has happened since then and the reason why it had happened. It makes the reader want to know more and
It was a sad day of loss and nostalgia when the keeper extinguished the lamp for the last time. Boarding up the lighthouse, he moved his family and belongings often to another light station. Lighthouses do not endure through space and time. Eroding coastlines, battering waves eventually cause enormous wear and tear on these structures. In the 21st century there is much more than a lonely lighthouse to aid mariners.
In my opinion, I got the idea that this book was written more for the workings of the mind but at the same time Steinbeck wanted to make you feel something as you read this. I think it was written for the workings of the mind because he wanted to get his point across about the constant internal battle of good vs. bad. What I enjoyed most about this book was the way he used characters to portray actions or ideas. For example, he used Cathy to represent evil and Aron to represent the internal battle of good vs.
A book that rings true attracts readers because it is able to allow the reader to imagine the scenario, a book that did this to me was Tangerine by Edward Bloor. In Tangerine, the author uses realistic situations to build up the plot of the story. Early use of realism strengthens the connection between the reader and the protagonist while allowing the end to be fictional and having the reader feels as if part of the story. Literary tools that are used to help support the connection are age, hobbies, setting, and character emotions and actions. In the novel Tangerine, the age of the protagonist, 12, is the age of the targeted audience are very similar.

Outside, the sun was as yellow and happy as a child’s crayon creation; inside, Hood’s soul was a black ruined landscape of misery and fear. He sat there all morning watching a swag-bellied sky refused to rain. The story underneath was brief, saying only that the fire department had ruled out arson.
He thought they were invited to the house weeks ago although it had been empty longer than that. 4. How does Cheever communicate the passing of time and Neddy’s aging? Cite specific passages from the story to back up your answer. On page 237 paragraph three “Had you gone for a Sunday afternoon ride that day you might have seen him, close to naked, standing on the shoulders of Route 424, waiting for a change to cross.” This kind of reminds me of passing of time because he is waiting.
Imagery is used substantially in the poem, for example, the still, deserted street, the moonless way, the sea is white, hollow highways and more. It all expresses and alludes the change of life for Fitzgerald and his wife in New York, the first stanza regarding his lifeless life, silent and boring in a city of grey buildings and empty shadows. Regarding the second stanza, it looks back upon the previous years of Fitzgerald’s life and how he abhorred that time, saying how futile it was. With the third and last stanza, Fitzgerald then entails how everything then quickly changed, how his world became bright with light implying his fortune gained and how he would take journeys to Europe where prevailed the Jazz
